Hot Toys has released 2 pictures of Red Skull & Iron Man Mark I that will be released sometime this year. The collectors are torn between the news. Everyone agrees that Red Skull looks great (even though he was a crappy villain in the movie). Plenty of die hard Hot Toys fans are mad that Mark I is being re-released. There’s 2 reasons why they’re pissed:
1) Hot Toys needs to stop re-releasing figures, especially Iron Man. Focus on new characters.
2) The value of the original toy will considerably go down.
The original Mark I used to go close to $1000 on eBay. I just checked recently and now they go from $400 – $800.
Personally, I’m happy it is being re-released because now I have a chance to buy it at the really really low price of $175 – $200. I’m still not sure if I’ll get it, but if I decide to, at least it’s more affordable than before.
