Ok, wow, is all I gotta say. After a very disappointing Season 2, the third season premiere is putting Heroes back on track.
Heroes is such a phenomenon that they had a one hour third season premiere special before the actual episode started. It was like a red carpet extravaganza involving the cast, fans from all over the world, contest winners, behind the scenes footage and sneak peeks. It was enjoyable to see the cast hanging out with each other as friends compared to seeing them rip each other’s heads off in Heroes. All the cast members hosting were good except for Ali Larter, you can tell that she was reading off of a monitor. Overall, it was a fun way to hype fans up for the show.
Yes, I’m going into spoiler territory here, so, if you don’t care, please go ahead =)
After watching the episode, “The Second Coming,” I’m happy to say that Heroes is getting interesting again. I like the story, but like seasons before, they’re using pre-existing storylines from comic books, such as the case is with this episode, where the storyline is heavily influenced by the X-Men saga, “Days of Future Past,” where in the future, mutants are hunted down and put in concentration camps. In the storyline, an X-Men member travels from the future to the past to prevent the mutant holocaust, like in Heroes, Peter goes back in time to prevent his brother, Nathan, from publically announcing that he can fly, by killing his brother. Now that I think about it, couldn’t Peter just go back in time and kidnap his brother and tell him what happened instead of shooting him? Anyway, after the shooting, Parkman, the telepathic cop, finds out that Peter is suspicious of the crime, and because of this, Peter sends Parkman to Africa.
Highlights from the show includes Hiro meeting a new baddie, Daphne (Brea Grant), who can run really fast. Their encounter is cute. Hiro time travels to the future to see if the stolen formula that Hiro got from his father, can cause world doom. In that time, Hiro also forsees that Ando kills Hiro, with fireballs? So now Hiro has to find the stolen formula and is very cautious of his friend, Ando.
Mohinder finds a way to give himself powers, like superhuman strength, with the help from Maya, played by “the Hotness” herself, Dania Ramirez. The scene where Mohinder just becomes an animal with Maya, oh wow, I got excited. But later on, he wakes up to find out his skin is peeling off in big pieces, ewwww.
Other highlights include the release of the Level 5 prisoners, who were kept in prison because of their dangerous powers. And present day Peter is transformed into a cholo somehow by his future self. God future Peter is so stupid. These level 5 prisoners are just plain evil. In one scene, their at the gas station, a villian with the ability of fire, is burning an innocent woman, really disturbing.
Then we have Nikki, she believes she’s someone else, and now she’s got new powers, she can freeze people. And Linderman is back, in Nathan’s head, teehee.
Of course, the biggest twist that everyone’s talking about is when Angela Petrelli, mother of the Petrelli brothers, reveals that Sylar is her son, thus making him Peter and Nathan’s brother. That explains their similar powers. And for the first time, we see Angela using her psychic powers. That explained how Peter had that power in the first season.
Now I’m excited about Heroes again. How will cholo Peter turn back to normal? How did Nikki get her new powers? Will Hiro and Ando trust each other and find the missing formula? Will Nathan and Peter welcome Sylar into theif family? Will Parkman become an African tribal member? Will Mohinder become a sex god? Until next week.

Nice recap! I totally agree, Season 3 of ”Heroes” appears to be on a great start. Let’s just hope that the show avoids focusing on annoying and useless characters as it did in Season 2.

Haha, I agree. The character that I couldn’t stand was Monica Dawson (I had to look up her name because her character was that bad). Her powers are cool, but her character is so lame. And it did nothing to move the story forward.

I think Future Peter is too strong….he’s like Neo and The Martian Manhunter combined, besides that I had just a few minor complaints. Ali Larter still sucks 🙁

I also liked the Heroes Season 3 premiere. But they added a few too many new characters, meaning they had
to cut back and forth between everybody. That’s the
only problem I’ve had with the show. Too many damn
characters. But I’ll be glued to the tube to see
what jumps off in this season.
