Harley Quinn is one of the most beloved villains in Batman’s rogue gallery due in part to her charm, attractive outfit and witty lines. She’s also been in the 2 latest Batman games and she’s getting more popular than ever. Starting in January, DC will have a new origin for her in Suicide Squad #7. Paul Dini and Bruce Timm created the original backstory for Quinn in 1994 in the comic “Mad Love.” It was actually a pretty good story as it reveals that Harley Quinn was Joker’s psychiatrist. She fell in love with Joker and decided to be his main squeeze.
I’m not sure if I want a new origin for Harley. I’m hoping, DC will just flesh out the original backstory even more.

I take it Paul Dini is redoing the back story? Harley is his character so he can do what he wants. In the “The Batman” cartoon he redid Harley’s story to tone it down for the kiddies, but as I said, his character, he can do what he wants–however, too many different stories may ruin it.
I like the two-tone hair over the jester bells, kind of neat–the costume is lame though, but whatever, I’ve given up on DC and comics in general, I have what I want in a nice box and that’s all that matters at this point.
To rewrite every character is just a sign of greed, I guess they weren’t making the money to have caviar and baby embryos for dinner every night after sitting around their cushy offices snorting lines of coke and screwing their secretaries, so changing origins was the best scheme they could come up with rather than hiring people who write because they love the original characters and artists who draw because they think its a thing of beauty.
