Hans Zimmer uses a strategy to score Inception that is actually in-line with the film’s story. Now, that everybody and their grandmothers have seen the movie, did anybody actually notice the similarity between the score (Hans Zimmer) and the song (Édith Piaf’s “Non, je ne Regrette Rien”) below?
Through NYTimes, Zimmer claims that the similarity between his score and the song “wasn’t supposed to be a secret.” Maybe it wasn’t supposed to be a secret, but I’m pretty sure that it wasn’t meant to be obvious either.

Zimmer’s score in True Romance was based on an old movie called Badlands. But I think for that score, everyone knew beforehand that it was an “homage”.
