Microsoft announced that in the weeks leading up to the release of Halo 4, they will be airing 15 minute webisodes on Machinima and Halo Waypoint. The story will center around Master Chief and a new cadet and will be aimed at those who are curious about Halo but never played the game. Frank O’Connor, the studio’s franchise development director, said: “Every time we do a live-action commercial the audience says, ‘We want to see more so that we can explore the Halo universe a little bit more. Demand grew more and more out of the two little vignettes we’d previously produced. We needed a way to ensure there was a way for people to get onboard this universe without feeling intimidated.” More details on the web series will be revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con in July.
