Coming to Blu-ray on September 25th 2012 and brought to you by SHOUT Factory, is the complete first season of G.I. Joe Renegades, the HUB channel’s awesome cartoon featuring all (or most) of your favorite characters!

G.I. Joe Renegades still features the “Regular Joes” fighting for freedom wherever there’s trouble—just in a different form. In a world controlled falsely by Cobra, five “Regular Joes” travel the country in search of evidence to prove that Cobra is not who they say they are—a family company who is looking out for the best interests of the people.

As the Renegade Joes are being chased by the Falcons, led by Flint for a crime they didn’t commit; and fighting off Cobra forces who are trying to keep the Joes from proving their innocence; they run into many classic characters that fans of G.I. Joe will remember well. Although most of their origins have changed for this cartoon, the appearance of heroic characters such as Shipwreck, Wild Bill and Law and Order; and villains such as Zartan, Scrap Iron and Firefly bring a feeling of nostalgia to the viewer.

I’ve always loved the Baroness and I find the Renegades version of the character to be the best yet! Performing multiple jobs for Cobra Commander such as keeping the positive image of Cobra on the surface above all of the negative and evil dealings, she really has her hands full. When her moronic lackeys can’t get the job done, she goes and takes care of it herself—and is usually successful.
I’m also a fan of Major Bludd, who has a run of bad luck in this show. If you ever wanted a decent interpretation of how he loses his eye, Renegades is a good place to start—poor guy; but he keeps going, which makes him a cool version of the character.

Animated shows look amazing on Blu-ray and G.I. Joe Renegades does not disappoint! The picture is just beautiful in every way—especially on a full HD set up. The sound is 5.1 surround which makes the viewer feel like they are in the middle of the action!

Spanning 3 compact disks and 26 episodes, G.I. Joe Renegades astounds as you watch, not only are the episodes able to keep the viewers attention, but when its all over you thirst for more!

Bonus features include a behind the scenes and as with most DVD’s; a few commentaries.

Although the first season of G.I. Joe Renegades is available on DVD, I highly recommend the Blu-ray if you have a player and all that goes with it. An HD television along with surround sound brings the viewer a pleasurable experience—better than being at the movies!

GRADE: A+ (It’s a great show for fans or non-fans and the Blu-ray quality is awesome)!
