Geoff Johns Talks JLA and Green Lantern Movie at WonderCon

The new chief creative officer (COO) of DC, Geoff Johns, discussed the future of the company at WonderCon.  Johns was enthusiastic as ever and talked about plenty of subjects, from comics to movies and personal career.

Below are the highlights:

–  DC is thinking about a Justice League movie but can’t talk about it until Comic Con.

–  Green Lantern movie is in 3rd week of principal photography.  Totally pleased with the progress

– Batman will have more role in Brightest Day compared to Blackest Night.  Good friend with Grant Morrison and discusses Batman’s character with him all the time.

–  Role as COO is to make the DC universe more consistent.

– Doesn’t want to do books in the future.  He’ll stay in comics where there’s artwork to his story.

–  Flash movie is also in the works.

– Doesn’t have any regrets with his previous stories.  He said he learns what’s good and bad with his stories and implements what he likes into future stories.

– Gave an advice to becoming a great writer: Take responsibility. Don’t blame anybody else although it’s easy to blame editors and artists.

–  Would like to work again on Teen Titans but doesn’t have time right now.

–  In Batman: Earth One, Alfred will have more role and readers will see his life before becoming Bruce Wayne’s butler.  He’ll be badass.

– Wants to collaborate movies and comics instead of controlling each entity as a separatedivision.

– Favorite cereal is Honey Comb.

– Stopped everybody that asked spoiler questions.  He didn’t want attendees to be spoiled and miss the fun of the stories.
