The star of 70’s sitcom Diff’rent Strokes; Gary Coleman passed away at age 42 from a brain hemorrhage caused from a fall.
I remember Gary Coleman very well growing up, I loved Diff’rent Strokes, it was one of those shows that was well-written and very funny. The acting from the mostly young group was exceptional as far as I’m concerned (especially compared to the duds of today).
Gary Coleman made an appearance on the pilot of Diff’rent Strokes spin-off “The Facts of Life” which featured his characters “sister” played by Dana Plato and starred Charlotte Rae whom was the house keeper on Diff’rent Strokes. The show quickly changed direction after the spin-off pilot, but it was interesting to see Conrad Bain, Todd Bridges, Dana Plato and of course Gary Coleman on a different show (even if it was one episode.
Although Gary Coleman had a tough life surrounding his kidney disease called nephritis, he has been known to suffer through filming when he was a child. I give a lot of credit to someone so young working through the pain when most adults would stay in bed.
I think that fans of Diff’rent Strokes and the few other forms of entertainment that Gary Coleman had been a part of will always remember him fondly.
“What’choo talkin’ ’bout Willis!”
We’ll miss you Gary…

I was surprised to hear the news yesterday. I also loved Diff’rent Strokes when I was a kid. I still catch a few repeat episodes every so often. It’s too bad what happened to him.
