Going to the flynnlives.com site you’ll notice new updates to the Flynn Lives rally to disrupt the Encom conference in San Francisco. The rally’s purpose is to show to the world that Flynn is still out there and still the dude. We have attended the rally meeting where the Flynn Lives’ group demonstrated to us how awesome Kevin Flynn is. We received Flynn Lives shirts and posters and Space Paranoids pins. We were then instructed on how to support the cause by wearing the shirts underneath our jackets while wearing our forged badges to disguise ourselves as employees at the Encom conference.
Attending the conference, Encom spared no expense as their stage contained pretty LED-like graphics and cool spinning logos. A representative for Encom shows up to introduce Alan Bradley, who’s the only Encom figure to really know Kevin Flynn. He speaks of Kevin very highly and announces a new game called Space Paranoids Online and the audience went wild.
The Flynn Lives group’s mission, “Operation Tron,” commences and then they start to distract the guards and takes over the stage, getting everybody all worked up and shouting, “Flynn lives! Flynn lives!” which they were suppose to chant, “Flynn Lives! Let’s find Kevin Flynn,” but that was just too long with no rhythm. After the successful rally, the Encom conference was over and we then see the two spotlights shine at two helicopters, one of them from Encom, chasing each other helicopter. This resulted in one of the guys in the choppers to parachute down and land near the crowd.
Overall, the event was pretty cool for viral marketing with the fans getting free shirts, posters, pins, Alan Bradley, a helicopter chase, and a guy parachuting. Can’t wait to see what they’ll pull during San Diego Comic-Con. And stay tuned for our video coverage of the event.
