The artist known as a hack in the comic book community is back working with Marvel. Rob Liefeld, who started out as a fan favorite working with Image has been accussed by fans of ripping off other people’s art. The evidence is there but Liefeld is still getting work from major comic companies. Reason for this is plain and simple, money. Liefeld is still a big draw to casual comic fans and his name sells. Sure, his human anatomy might be weird but in the end, comic book companies don’t care as long as it sells a lot of issues. To me, his artwork is okay, some covers look great but some are crap with the same poses all the time.
Liefeld will be doing 2 variant covers for Onslaught Unleashed #1. That’s right Onslaught is back and some characters will probably die again but they’ll be alive in 3 months so the story will be pointless. The comic will be released in February 2011, for $4. Anyways, below are the covers:
