A long and once thought dead franchise from Japan is once again back and breathing on the Ps2 . TechnoSoft had one of the best made shmup’s (side scrolling shooter) in the 16bit and 32bit era. It was comparable and in some ways better then Ienhander but not as mainstream as the Squaresoft made, rival.
A glimmer of hope lost….
Back in 2000 was the last anyone ever really heard of TechnoSoft. TechnoSoft fell into some financial issues and ceased its production of a new Thunder force .Videos of Thunder force, under the name of “Broken thunder” would circulate around here and there but it was later found out to be a doujin game (fan made) . With the demise of the Dreamcast and Technosofts close ties to Sega, it was only expected that this small development house would be rarely heard from again.
Rejoice! is near October for shmup fans
Recently This month, the latest issue of Famitsu has a preview on the revitalized series,by bringing out Thunder force 6, due out in October. Looks like, what can be expected on the Ps2. It looks like it fallows the classic formula quite well. It looks Decent so far, lets see how well its directed and how good the music is. I more then sure the gameplay will be the same, which already is good enough but more surprises wont hurt at this point.

looks good, ive been in a classic game fit recently, my current game ive been playing alot is the original Blade Runner game from 1997 for the PC.
Anyways, It seems like recently the same game has been coming out alot, Sandbox style, open ended, million characters on the screen FPS shooters, etc… Same games different characters.
Nice to see a different game in the works.
