From BBC Video comes the 60 minute Easter Special of Doctor Who entitled Planet of the Dead. After 4 seasons of the decades old series, the BBC is releasing a few single episode videos which are aired on BBC America and of course in England. These features are being shown to lead up to the reboot of the series that will feature the “regeneration” of David Tennant’s Doctor.
Starring: David Tennant the 10th Doctor and Michelle Ryan from the short-lived “Bionic Woman”; Planet of the Dead brings The Doctor and a bus full of passengers to a desert world where the enemies are causing a danger that will effect England and the world. Can The Doctor save his fellow riders and himself before it’s too late?
Filled with Action, Comedy and Drama that Doctor Who is known for; this 60 minute feature will have “Who” fans glued to their “tele’s.” This is the 200th episode of the series that started in the 60’s.
Doctor Who Magazine.
The DVD has a beautiful picture and is also available in Blu-Ray. The sound is stereo and it is filmed in the 16:9 ratio. As for the extras; it has a 60 minute behind the scenes which is great!
The episode is written by Russell T. Davies (who produced the show and written many of the better episodes since season 1 with Christopher Eccleston) and Gareth Roberts.

This one was ok, but I liked the first one, The Next Doctor, a little more. So there’s only two more specials left till David Tennant is gone, and the new actor replaces him. I wonder if he’ll renegerate into the new Doctor on screen. That’s happened before in the old series.
