Available for everybody this past April’s Fools Day, the Taxidermist DLC is a short chapter that takes place before the full Heavy Rain game. Also note that this is the same demo the developers used before to promote the game, but wasn’t available in the game. So the question is, is it worth the price of $4.99 for a short 20-minute adventure? Easy to decide based on how much you love to replay chapters and how much you enjoy the game in general. But for the most part, it’s pretty pricey for a chapter that’s been used as a demo piece and has been previewed before by many game sites.
The chapter lets you play as Madison Paige, who’s on the trail looking for the Origami Killer. If you’ve played the game, it won’t be a surprise to you, but it’s a fun little diversion. The chapter is really short, but you can play the chapter in many different ways. Your character goes into a creepy house of a guy who’s a taxidermist looking for evidence. Upon finding a disturbing scene, the house owner comes in and it’s up to you to figure out what to do. The consequences are quite simple, either you escape or you don’t, but the paths to the ending can be uncertain.
