Last year District 9 astonished the world and since then many have been waiting for news of when they can expect to return to Johannesburg and the world of District 9.  District 9 star Sharlto Copley talked to Empire magazine recently about the details on the plans for more films.

“Neil wants it and I want it. Neil’s doing another film first. Then I think if everything goes according to plan we’ll do the second film in about two years time. That story can go in so many different ways. There’s a whole universe.”

“Neil’s actually very interested in prequels as well; he’s said that a few times. We wouldn’t do the traditional Hollywood version of the sequel which would just be 100 aliens fighting humans.”

Which is funny because that contradicts many the earlier reports that we’re just that.   Personally I think it would be far more interesting to see what had happened to the Prawns before they were plagued with disease.  There technology and weaponry were so advanced and what went wrong?

I anxiously wait to hear more news on this film because prequel  means well get so see more of those Mech-Suit things so that diffidently a plus.
