A Dell tech support from India took advantage of a woman’s computer ignorance. Tara Fitzgerald might be ignorant to the digital world but she’s not so innocent in real life as she took nude pics of herself, hoping to send it to her boyfriend. She uploaded it to her Dell laptop but didn’t know how to find it once it was saved in the hard drive. She panicked that her 14 year old daughter would find the pics and called Dell’s tech support to find the nudes. Riyaz Shaikh from India picked up the call and with Fitzgerald’s permission, accessed her computer remotely.
He found the pics and started downloading it to his computer. Shaikh uploaded the nude pics to a website. He promised he’d take it down if she sends him a new Dell laptop, I guess he’s loyal to his company. She sent him one and he asked her to send some items to TN, since he found a girlfriend through tech support. At the same time, he was trying to woo Fitzgerald through internet chat, this guy was a straight out pimp. Fitzgerald knew he was being taken advantage of and finally told a local news station in Sacramento. She’s suing Dell for the damages.
Moral of the story: Don’t forget where you save your nude pics!
