DC co-publisher Dan Didio revealed in an interview that an iconic character will be introduced as gay from the new 52 line. I thought at first it would be Wonder Woman but Courtney Simmos, DC entertainment’s senior vice president of publicity, cleared it up by saying it’ll be a dude.
Batman writer, Scott Snyder said on a tweet that Bruce Wayne won’t be the gay guy.
It also won’t be Aquaman because this character will make his first appearance in June for the one of the new 52 titles.
With the way DC works, it can be pretty much anybody because they like to reboot their universe every couple of years.

If it ends up being someone major, I’m guessing Hal Jordon’s Green Lantern–even though I think he has a thing for Star Sapphire? Other than that, The Flash, he rarely sees a female love interest to my knowledge.
It can’t be Aquaman, he is married to Mera–his queen of Atlantis and thanks to Young Justice, he is simply a cool balanced character that cannot be changed in that way.
Something tells me it might not be a very iconic character in the end, but we’ll have to wait and see. Looks like DC is copying Archie comics–I would have liked them to keep Barbara Gordon in a wheelchair rather than make a character gay, but what can you do.
