It looks disappointing. It feels nothing like Frank Miller’s work. Miller’s Batman has always been gritty, both the story and the artwork. Here, we get the opposite. The art looks dull, and the overall feel of the animation is the same as the rest.
The voice acting feels unmotivated, are they even trying? Year One was a disappointment, and this looks no better.

I don’t know man…40-some seconds tells me squat. From what I saw, the art looks great and I get what the older cop is saying/thinking, he was probably young when he first saw Batman in action and that is what he was trying to say to his young partner. I need to see more to really get something out of it.
After Frank Miller took a crap on “All Star Batman and Robin The Boy Wonder”, I have no consideration for him at all. If he just wanted a paycheck he should have used a different character to crap on, not Batman or DC in general. I have all of The Dark Knight Returns and it is decent, I don’t really care for the art, but all in all it was interesting.
I guess for me, I would be looking for how they push the history of Bruce being older than just copying off of the old comic book.
Something I need to check out, I’m just falling behind in the direct to DVD Batman cartoons.
It sucks that you didn’t like it though, nothing worse than sitting through something that wasn’t your “cup of tea.”
