Deadline Hollywood reported previously that another Daredevil movie is in development and slated for a 2012 release. Instead of a sequel it is supposed to be a reboot with David Scarpa (The Day the Earth Stood Still) writing the script. Apparently, 20th Century Fox and New Regency need to hurry up and put out another DD movie or the rights will revert back to the big monster Disney, who gobbled up Marvel last year.
So who will star in this latest attempt to bring one of Marvel’s most popular and controversial comic book romances to life? Will there even be a romance in the Daredevil reboot or will it just be an action-packed dude flick? Jason Statham is said to have shown an interest in the project. But I’m really not sure who he’d play… Bullseye? Maybe a cameo as the Punisher from that short prisonyard scene in DD issue #181 where he tells Bullseye that Kingpin’s got a new hitman…er… hitwoman? Jennifer Garner is said to have signed a 3-picture deal as Elektra but has only filmed two to date. One of their biggest mistakes the first time around was not staying true to the character of Elektra, in either movie. Elektra was never OCD. And when she fought Daredevil, she knew exactly who he was and that she was, in fact, kicking the ass of the love of her life.
If you want to see the true Elektra, check out the Elektra: Assassin graphic novel written by Frank Miller and illustrated by Bill Sienkiewicz. If Elektra’s going to be in the movie, most likely the movie would have to be rated R because, well, Elektra’s nuts. But you know, like in true ninja fashion, nuts in a good way. Being that it’s a reboot, that usually means all new actors. So who should be cast as Elektra? And who should play opposite her as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil? I would have said Ryan Reynolds as Murdock but he can’t play Green Lantern, Deadpool and Daredevil. What do you think?

I think Ryan Reynolds would’ve been better as Daredevil because of the chiseled jaw than as Green Lantern.
But overall, I just hope they’ll make it gritty like Frank Miller’s version.

I think Jennifer garner did a perfect job as Elektra! And the whole OCD thing wasnt her idea, it was in the script and she did it. (And I think it worked perfectly because because all marvel heros have problems, and Elektra is supossed to be uptight anyway.) And wheither she knew she was beating up matt murdock or not doesnt matter because in movies there always at least a 10% difference.

I don’t know whether Garner had anything to do with making Elektra OCD or not. Elektra’s beyond uptight, though. In the Elektra: Assassin graphic novel, she was forced to drink the beast’s milk that made her psychotic, which is way more serious than being obsessive compulsive. As for fighting Murdock, what made their relationship so complex was the fact that they were on opposite sides and fought over it, even though they loved each other so deeply. I just thought they changed the story and watered it down too much, that’s all…
