D23 was the place to be for Disney fans of all ages. There was a lot of hauling to do as plenty of Disney exclusive merchandises were sold through the event including vinylmations and toys. Celebs came in full force including the actors of the Avengers and the Pixar crew shared their secrets behind their hit movies. Lion King 3D also made its debut on Saturday night and it felt like a concert with the audience clapping after every song and memorable scenes.
While there was a lot to do for the 3 day event, I enjoyed the home video department the best. The booth was previewing upcoming 3D movies coming out on Blu-Ray. The most impressive looked to be On Stranger Tides with the mermaids and skeletons popping at you. Beauty and the Beast didn’t look too great, probably because it’s an older 2d hand drawn movie. The Pixar movies looked great, especially the picturesque scenes from Cars 2. I also got to check out the packaging for Lion King Trilogy and it looked great. Too bad I couldn’t take a picture of it because it’s still in development but fans of the franchise will be happy with it.
Overall, D23 was a fun event. I was surprised Saturday sold out because this is only its 2nd event.
