Crappy Lighting and Ghosts?

So I went to Huntington Library yesterday in San Marino to test out the new camera. Got there around 12:30 p.m. and of course, the sun was already fully out. When the sun is on top of everything and you’re shooting on manual, you’re screwed to hell. You’re either going to way under exposed or way over exposed shots. There’s no two ways around it. If you try to get a good perfectly exposed shot, you’ll end up with boring ass lighting that has no dramatic effect. So it’s a lose lose situation, unless you’re a big fan of silhouettes (I like them too but I can only take so much).

Later on the day, we went to the Colorado Street Bridge in Pasadena and took pictures of it. We went to a different, shorter bridge to get a better angle and boy was it scary. I never knew I was afraid of heights because I’m not afraid of riding rollercoasters, but being up there for a long time made me nervous. Anyhow, since the sun was close to setting than at San Marino, the lighting was more dramatic and we took better pictures.

Tidbit: Nicknamed “suicide bridge” by the locals because more than 100 people have jumped off the bridge. This, I knew before going to the bridge. What I wasn’t aware of is that the place is suppose to be haunted. Supposedly, a woman in a robe and a man with glasses can be seen, a woman’s voice can be heard crying and another woman can be seen jumping off the bridge, only to disappear before the body lands on the ground. Why the ghost would re-enact a suicide, I have no idea. We went to the ground level, where people must’ve died and didn’t see or hear anything unusual. But thinking back about it, that place is creepy because it feels so isolated and there is barely anybody around.
