Part of being a collector is the joy I get when I think about my collection. Finding that hard to get toy or reading the latest issue of Batman always brightens up my day. Some collect toys, while others collect comics and video games. In the end, collector’s have one thing in common: passion.
So this week, we’re starting out a new segment: Collectors Society! (Not to be mistaken for the Justice Society–there’s no Stargirl here!) We will showcase collections from fellow collectors!
If you want to submit your collection, send us an email at: collection@nerdsociety.com. We’d love to show it off!
Our first collection is from Stoney. He has action figures neatly displayed on the walls through the use of slat wall from retail stores and 3 TV’s for his home entertainment center. I guess it makes sense to have that many TV’s when you’re watching football games. Now, this is what you call a MAN’s room.
Name: Stoney
Location: Upstate, NY
How did you start your collection? I loved Super Heroes since I was a kid. I used to play w/Mego Super Heroes…that should give you an idea of how old I am. Now I have a 7 year old of my own, and he’s totally into them to…(he) has hundreds of action figures! This is “our” collection. It is totally for him, and he decides what to do with them once he gets older. For now, he knows “The Wall” is off limits for playing with, and is totally fine with that!
What’s your favorite toy? Don’t have ONE favorite Toy, but the Hot Toys are up there. I plan to continue collecting the Hero based ones.
What are you currently collecting? I pretty much collect DCU, DC Direct, Marvel Universe, Hot Toys, Muggs, Hellboy. Have a few sports figures (NFL Legends). I used to have every NFL piece. I sold them off to help fund this current collection because I enjoy collecting more with my son.
The back of the room with DC figures
Mighty Muggs and 12′ Marvel Legends Icons
That’s a lot of Green Lanterns
Raider fan in NY? Can’t be…
I’ll go cross eyed watching 3 screens at once
Love Spidey
Alex Ross FTW!
Hot Toys Hellboy 2
I want to thank Stoney for showing off his man’s room!
Once again, if you have a collection you would like to share, please let us know at collection@nerdsociety.com.
Til next time…happy hunting!
