Charles Lewis aka “Mask” died from a car accident last night. The report seems to indicate that Lewis was racing in his Ferrari against a Porsche. The Porsche driver lost control of the vehicle and hit Lewis Ferrari. Lewis lost control of the car, went over a curb and then hit a lightpole. Investigations are still going on.
Lewis was the co-founder of Tapout, a popular MMA clothing line. While most hardcore fans hated his off the wall antics, I always liked the guy. Lewis was a true MMA fan and supporter. Tapout sponsored lesser known fighters as well as most of the UFC’s current roster. Lewis and his company started out small. They first began selling their merchandise in small and sometimes illegal MMA shows. With the popularity of their merchandise, they were able to sponsor in the UFC. Today, Tapout is one of the main sponsors in the UFC.
Thanks for everything you did Charles. The MMA community will miss you.

Sad news to hear. Even though I’m not a fan of Tapout, I respect what he did for the sport.
I hear that there’s still an ongoing investigation if he was also racing or not.
