Although Circuit City stores have crappy service with employees socializing amongst themselves and not helping you out, there e-commerce is a different creature. About 5 weeks ago, the store listed the Matrix Trilogy HD-DVD for $19.99, the retail price? $99.99 . I knew it was an error and placed an order. The total with standard shipping was $22.49. I was hoping they would ship the set but didn’t count on it. DVDtalk and AVSforum members were posting that Circuit City did indeed ship their sets, it gave me more hope.
Weeks passed and still no shipping confirmation but my order wasn’t cancelled either. About 2 weeks ago, I finally got a shipping confirmation! It said I’d get the movies in about 3 days. Didn’t get it that fast but got it 10 days after it shipped (It would have been faster but USPS screwed up, that’s another story). So even though I don’t have an HD-DVD player yet, I already have the Matrix Trilogy. I’d say saving getting the set for $22 and change is a damn good deal. So Circuity Ciity, I applaud you for not cancelling my order. Best Buy, their main competition cancels orders on their price mistakes and gives you a $5 coupon that expires the next day.
