So I got my third 360 about two weeks ago after sending my second one back to MS because of the “red ring light of death”. Turnaround time was actually pretty good, about 3 and a half weeks. Oh man, here I am, still undecided on which next gen consol to buy. 

I was so close to buying an Xbox 360.  It seemed promising too.  the price drop of 50 bucks for the premium.  That’s 350 bucks now.  And they released a newer version of the 360 with HDMI already in it.  This newer version also comes with a newer chip and a new cooling system.  That means the ring of death won’t be popping up anytime soon.  A bunch of kickass demos are out too, like Bioshock, Katamari, Medal of Honor.  And the 360 has a better selection …

Hmmm, one of the top games I’ve been waiting for has been pushed back to 2008. The main reason’s because of the time intensive nature of doing a multi-platform release. As long as they’re taking their time to making a better game, I’m all for it.

Earlier, I was thinking of playing Gear of War and chainsaw noobing some players online. The thought got me excited: The fright it causes your opponent (especially if they are annoying 10 year olds), the patience you need to be a camper, – oh it’s great to be a chainsaw noob.

I was going to write this article last week when news surfaced the PS3 was getting a $100 price drop. But I decided to wait after Sony’s press conference at E3 to give them a fair chance. After the overhyped release, it was obvious that consumers were not willing to pay $599 for a console that doubled as an entertainment center. Sony has tried attracting potential buyers by including 5 free Blu Rays and a price drop. With all the deals Sony is offering, is it worth getting it today.
