Yeah, I’m late in the game but I just found this out after finishing up MGS4 (I didn’t want to spoil myself so I steered clear from anything Metal Gear related).

The video above shows the instrumental “The Snowstorm – Winter Road” by Sviridov.  It is eerily similar to the Metal Gear Solid theme. This piece was created in ’74, clearly way before when Metal Gear was created.  The person responsible for the MGS theme is Tappy, back in ’98 when the first Metal Gear Solid game came out (Harry Gregson-Williams only rearranged it for MGS2 and MGS3.)

I told myself that I’d wait until the PS3 would come down in price.  But everyone keeps on saying how good Metal Gear Solid 4 is, so I finally bit the dust and bought it.

I could of saved money by going to Wal-Mart, but I came too late.  I could of bought the Metal Gear PS3 bundle, but they are hard to come by now…Shit.  So I settled for the 40 gig PS3 without the PS2 full compatibility and no Dualshock 3 controller.  But at least I got Spider-Man 3 for Blu-ray.

Now my 360 is sitting in the backburner …

This game is badass.

Just like the previous MGS games, presentation is top notch. Some of the cut scenes are very impressive. It seemed like they’ve combined live actors with in game graphics. The art direction looks like Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down. Somewhat grainy feel with dust and wind creating the atmosphere. The sound is in dolby digital and it’s pretty sweet. Ambient effects like the wind and engines can be heard from the rear speakers. I also like the gunshots. Sounds deep with a lot of oomph to it. In-game graphics is great. ***ing *** **** mother****ing ********ing ***** eating **** **** ***** and ghetto blasters!!!! Ok, enough venting.  The day I was afraid of has happened.  Didn’t get the dreaded three red lights, but I got 2 red lights from playing GTAIV.  Now all games that I play here on after is acting up.

Haven’t decided what to do yet, either get it repaired or do some other drastic thing….. Well, for now, i’m gonna drink water.…

 

Well, so I’ve finally finished GTA IV. What’s my opinion?  I agree with Cricket that it was overrated from all the gaming sites. It gets like 10s across the board. And even IGN said that it’s so great that it’s as good as the first Ocarina of Time. ::rolls eyes:: I would say that GTA 3 was as good as the first Ocarina.
