This week the NPD Group has released software and hardware sales for the month of June 2008.  Snake, as it seems, is still standing and I’d like to shout out, whoohooo!!  

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots debut at the top spot with 774,600 copies sold, while the next game down on the list sold 422,300 copies which was the Guitar Hero game for the DS. …

A long and once thought dead franchise from Japan is once again back and breathing on the Ps2 . TechnoSoft had one of the best made shmup’s (side scrolling shooter) in the 16bit and 32bit era. It was comparable and in some ways better then Ienhander but not as mainstream as the Squaresoft made, rival.

A glimmer of hope lost….

Back in 2000 was the last anyone ever really heard of TechnoSoft. TechnoSoft fell into some financial issues and ceased its production of a new Thunder force .Videos of Thunder force, under the name of “Broken thunder” would circulate around here …

After yesterdays E3 announcements, that Square enix will whore out to the masses, by putting the long exclusive Final fantasy 13 on Xbox 360, you can bet there was a lot of this going on world wide. PEOPLE PLEASE BEAT YOUR KIDS!…

The Microsoft Press Conference announced today that Final Fantasy XIII will be coming to the Xbox 360 also. This is a major announcement since the Final Fantasy series has been an exclusive franchise for Sony since FFVII. And I’m betting Sony was really banking on Final Fantasy VIII to help sell the PS3 even more.…

So I was looking into my sources ( BBC news on E3 info ) and the long rumors have been confirmed ><. It looks like Sony and Microsoft will tail Nintendo and there approach to dumb down games for “casual” appeal. Game developers are really starting to understand 3D graphics and physics to a higher level then before. Last thing we need is a lot of this talent shifting into a money making mode rather then finally really getting 3D to work better with our long running franchises.

After watching the trailer, I’m looking forward to this movie. Did you see that winged creature near the end? I’m thinking it’s taking him to Valhalla. That looks fucking awesome I say. Mark Wahlberg even has the constipated look on his face just like good ‘ol Max Payne.…

I just beat the game as well and DAMN, are the cutscenes long. Some probably range from 30-40 minutes. It seemed like I was watching more cut scenes than actually playing the game. Hideo Kojima, the creator and director of the game just doesn’t know when to end his cut scenes. I know he’s going for the cinematic experience but I want to play, not watch a movie.

Even the ending is overly bloated. Just when it already has a perfect ending, we get more scenes that just stops the momentum.
