At first, this game seemed lackluster. It felt sluggish and slow compared to Call of Duty 4 (COD4). The shooting system is very difficult to get used to, and the graphics isn’t all that great. Installing the game and the update could take up to 1.5 hrs, and It takes forever to get online to play. And when you’re on, there are lag issues and the game freezes up sometimes. This weekend I get to test out the online beta for Resistance 2.  The beta, which can get from Sony, allows you to download the beta, which is around 2.2 gigs.  It’s a pretty big file, so best to download this overnight. 

This game is the highly anticipated sequel to Resistance: Fall of Man exclusively for the PS3 by Insonmiac Games. 

The beta lets you play the online co-op mode.  I tried connecting to play competitive mode, but it always failed.  So I guess it’s only co-op mode for me.

In the latest third-person survival horror game, Dead Space, you play as Isaac Clark, a space engineer, who goes in an infested space ship to find his girlfriend, Nicole.  You’re with your crew that resembles the Nebuchadnezzar crew from the Matrix, heading to the Ishimura ship to find out what went wrong.  Isaac and crew lands inside the ship, only to find the ship infested with mutated creatures.  Sounds clichéd, yes I know.  Aliens, Sunshine, and Bioshock come into mind.  And especially Prey, a game about a Native-American who has to save his girlfriend and the world from aliens.…

Just let me get this out of the way, having played the game, this movie doesn’t even compare. If you want the true Max Payne experience, your best bet is the PC original.

As a movie by itself, it still fails. The key thing that made Max Payne a great game, was the cheesy narration and non-stop John Woo/Matrix style action. Master Chief is not the main star of this game. This time, you get to play one of the regulars. The trailer looks promising, and the game might be squad-based/FPS. If this is the case, a lot of 12-year olds might not enjoy this game as much as they did the previous ones.

Personally, I’m excited about this release. Even though Microsoft is an evil empire, I still enjoy their games. The fact that it might be squad-based is a big plus for me. I was disappointed with Halo 3 because the graphics was lackluster, and the gameplay offered nothing new. …

The bar on sexy and deadly has definitely been raised. Bayonetta is an upcoming game for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Bayonetta has finally got a viewable gameplay demo at this years Tokyo Game Show 2008. From what is shown, it appears the sexy protagonist has a list of sexy moves. She has an extreme and sexy air juggle, followed by some amazing special moves. Her clothing can turn into demons and she has a move where a guillotine flies out and straps an enemy down and *CHOP*! It looks like this will be the second and final year for E for All. What was supposed to be E3 for the public, turned out to be an embarrassing event. While E3 reached 70,000 in attendance in its peak, E for All would be greatful if they reached 10,000. Besides Microsoft, Ubisoft and EA showing up at the event, no other big video game were to be seen. You know the event is a failure when Target has a bigger booth than Microsoft and Ubisoft.

Oh man oh man! Time to either dust off your Wii or buy one.

I have several very exciting titles to run over with you guys. 1st we have Vanillaware’s (makers of the more recent Odin’s Sphere) new and vibrant 2D masterpiece Oboro Muramasa Youtoden. I believe this is Vanillawares 3rd game. The 1st was a Saturn masterpiece that slipped under the radar called Princess Crown. Due to poor marketing, the game went down and  resurfaced about a decade later, due to popularity of Odin’s Sphere.
