A lot of people have been giving EA a hard time because they feel EA is taking over other game companies like a dictatorship. They feel as if EA is turning in a quick buck (quantity over quality). They may be right, but I’m glad that EA is taking a chance with new properties like Mirror’s Edge. It’s a nice change of pace from all the sequels coming out like Fallout 3, Resistance 2, Gears of War 2, Prince of Persia, Fable II, and Tomb Raider: Underworld.

Mirror’s Edge is a first person game that focuses on parkour, free running. The …

McFarlane has launched its newest Halo 3 line: Legendary Collection. Previous Halo 3 figures from Mcfarlane were well articulated, about 5 inches and ranged from $10 -$15. The previous lines were too small for me, so I waited for the Legendary line. The Legendary figures are bigger, limited articulation, and of course, the dynamic pose. Pretty much what you expect from a McFarlane line. But this time around, the figures costs around $20. Is it worth the price? Without further ado, here’s my Legendary Master Chief review:…

Video Game Review: LittleBigPlanet (PS3)

The supposed PS3 system seller that was well received by the critics.  It’s gotten a 95 at metacritic.  When it was revealed last year at E3, all eyes were on this little game.  You play as a sack boy in a 3d side scrolling game that lets you play online with other players.  Certain levels of the game can’t be accomplished without teamwork from your friends. I just pounded the shit out of the Dark Prince in Konami’s latest installment of the Gothic vampire hunting franchise, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for the Nintendo DS. But before I go on to review, here’s how it went down:…

Mirror’s Edge Demo Impressions (PS3)

Mirror’s Edge Demo Impressions (PS3)

mirrors edge a 0 Mirror’s Edge Demo Impressions (PS3)

One of the games I’m anticipating November, Mirror’s Edge by Dice and EA, released a demo online yesterday for the PS3, and today for the Xbox 360. Think of the game as free running in first person view.

The game takes you into the not too distant future where corporations are taking control of everything. Not too far from the truth I must say. You play as a runner named Faith, a messenger who uses parkour to move from one area to the next. Parkour is getting popular, and reminds me of Jackie Chan’s stunts. I’d recommend Rumble in the Bronx. …

Fallout 3 Impressions (PS3)

Fallout 3 Impressions (PS3)

Fallout 3 e32k6 poster Fallout 3 Impressions (PS3)

Fallout 3 may seem like an FPS based on the cover, but from the hours I’ve been playing it, it’s more RPG.  The game is made by Bethesda, the same guys who make Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.  While I found Oblivion to have a cliche’d boring story, Fallout 3 got my attention right away from the opening scene. …

Far Cry 2 First Impressions (Xbox 360/PS3)

far cry 2 1422 Far Cry 2 First Impressions (Xbox 360/PS3)

Far Cry 2 came out recently and I’ve gotten a chance to play this game for some hours now.  Far Cry 2 puts you in the role of a soldier assigned to assassinate the Jackal, an arms dealer dealing to both sides of the conflict in Africa.  One problem though, your character has Malaria, and because of this, your assignment gets tougher.

Far Cry 2 is a completely different game compared to the first one last time I checked.  The developers tried to add new gameplay elements, but forgot to add “fun” into it.  Its Far Cry’s fps controls mixed with …

Update: You can check out our full review here.

The demo is available for download on Xbox Live.  It’s the third Tomb Raider game by Crystal Dynamics.  They have brought Lara back from the tomb (I love puns!) with Tomb Radier Legends and Anniversary.  This is Crystal Dynamics’ third installment and continues after Legends left off.

I’ve played Legends and quite enjoyed it.  The controls were better this time around, and even though the graphics weren’t amazingly awesome, it was solid.  Hit the jump for my thoughts on the demo.…
