Suguri Launch Party

Suguri Launch Party

Rockin’ Android
collaborated with Tune In Tokyo and threw a launch party for Suguri at the 2nd Street Cafe in Little Tokyo. The 2 1/2 d side scroller “indie” game has sold more than 50,000 copies in Japan.  I didn’t know what indie games were all about so I asked the president, Enrique Galvez about it.

“What makes these games so cool is that they’re created by regular guys just like you and me.  They have full time jobs and work on the games at night.  For the most part, they do everything from programming, graphics and even music.”

Game Review: InFamous

Game Review: InFamous

InFamous Cover Playstation 3 Game Review: InFamous

Sony has been tooting their horn on how great InFamous is and how well it’s performing in sales in their E3 2009 press conference. I have to say that Sony is right because InFamous is a really fun game from beginning to end.

The story of InFamous follows the lead character, Cole, after an incident that caused Empire city to explode, leaving the city in darkness and leaving him with lightning powers. His girlfriend, Trish, hates him because she believes that he killed her friend and the people of Empire City blames him for the explosion. Pretty much the whole world …

Fatal Fury: From Games To Anime!

Fatal Fury: From Games To Anime!

Fatal1 300x225 Fatal Fury: From Games To Anime!

In the early 90’s the names Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi and Mai Shiranui were as well known as Ken and Ryu.
Fatal Fury came off of a game system called Neo Geo which had arcade quality for the home gamer. For it’s time it was considered great and had a price for both the console and games to match. Nintendo had then picked it up and the titles Fatal Fury, Fatal Fury 2 and Fatal Fury Special were born and distributed for the average gamer to afford. From the original to Special the graphics had …

Overlooked Games: Dead Space

Overlooked Games: Dead Space

DeadSpaceOverlooked copy Overlooked Games: Dead Space

Every year there are blockbuster games that we all know are going to be amazing, receive tons of awards, and garner a sizeable chunk of the consumer market.  Here’s a run-down of the current scores and sales of some of last years big games:

Metal Gear Solid 4:               Score:  94         Sold:  4 million

Gears of War 2:                        Score:  93         Sold:  5 million

Fallout 3:                                    Score:  93         Sold:  3.83 million   (ps3+360)

I had already read about Dead Space, and played it in a store for a minute, and dismissed it as a Resident Evil 4 clone.  While the game …

NERDSociety Video: Anime Expo 2009 Coverage by Tentacle Monster

NERDSociety Video: Anime Expo 2009 Coverage by Tentacle Monster

The Tentacle Monster covers Anime Expo, up and down, left and right. He meets pornstar Amber Rayne, cosplayers, dances to Love and Joy and learns the art of traditional Japanese dance. The Tentacle Monster also competes against Ezio from Assassin’s Creed 2 and Chun-Li in Street Fighter 4. Of course nothing’s complete without the cosplaying cuties to finish up the Anime Expo experience.…

Street Fighter The Legend of Chun Li Poster Kristin Kreuk1 202x300 John Spartan Believes in The Legend of Chun Li

I love this world we live in. We are blessed to have the almighty Hollywood gods bless us with yet another awesome Street Fighter movie. Who cares about Ryu and Ken? One just walks around the world with a bag and the other dyes his eyebrows black. Hollywood gave me the characters I wanted in a Street Fighter movie with a Belgium accented American badass and a scrawny bug-eyed mixed Chinese pianist whose knowledge of wire-fu would make even Jet Li scream out, “Lana Lang is number one!”

When adapting from a video game to the big screens, the writers were …

Post E3 – Games I’m Excited For This Fall

wiimote Post E3 Games Im Excited For This Fall

Last year, I thought there were too many great games coming out all at once.  Now, after this E3, I’m pretty sure that I can say that last year is about to be annihilated.  Okay, so this year won’t have some of the bigger names like Fallout, Metal Gear, Mario Kart, Smash Bros. or Wii Fit (the soccer moms have spoken!) etc. (hey, last year wasn’t so bad), but there are TONS of supposedly high-quality games coming out this year.  Don’t get too angry if I miss your favorite game, but this is a short list of some games I’m most …

PS3 Down

sony playstation 3 PS3 Down

Damn!  My PS3 just stopped reading movies and games today.  I was watching the awesome show True Blood on my PS3 when it took me back to the “menu”.  I tried playing it again and the tv was just black.  It seemed like the PS3 was trying to read the disk but couldn’t do it.  I tried ejecting the movie but the blue light just kept flickering.  I turned off the system from the back and turned it back on.  I was able to eject the disk.  I put it Underworld: Evolution and it said “invalid disc”.  …

The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony GTA: Epic Episode Packs – The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony

It was announced awhile ago that a new DLC called The Ballad of Gay Tony is coming out for the Xbox 360 late summer/early fall of 2009. This is the second of two “epic episode packs” and follows Luis Lopez, a character that you may remember in GTA IV that screwed up a deal and in turn got Niko Bellic running from the mob.

The first DLC, The Lost and Damned, was a cool DLC that really gave you your money’s worth. For a price of $20, it’d better be worth it. I’d have to say that this DLC blows …
