If you have been following the hoopla about the firings of Jason West and Vince Zampella, creators of the Call of Duty franchise, then you’d be interested to know that EA has picked them up where Activision has tossed them out to the gutter.

Today, EA has announced that Jason West and Vince Zampella have formed a new development studio, Respawn Entertainment. By forming an independent studio, this means that they would own the intellectual properties that they create. The studio’s aim is to create state-of-the-art gaming experiences for a worldwide audience.

Good news for all you movie and TV lovers with Netflix and a Nintendo Wii. Now you can stream thousands of movies and TV episodes from Netflix through your Nintendo Wii. Nintendo and Netflix have announced the partnership since January. It’s a pretty smart move for Netflix since the Wii will reach more consumers than any other device that currently supports Netflix.

The most popular game of last year has broken another record, on Xbox Live. Microsoft has reported that the Stimulus Package for Modern Warfare 2 was downloaded by more than one million fans in the first 24 hours while surpassing the 2.5 million mark in less than a week. Available for everybody this past April’s Fools Day, the Taxidermist DLC is a short chapter that takes place before the full Heavy Rain game. Also note that this is the same demo the developers used before to promote the game, but wasn’t available in the game. So the question is, is it worth the price of $4.99 for a short 20-minute adventure? Easy to decide based on how much you love to replay chapters and how much you enjoy the game in general.
