Gaming in Retrograde- The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX!

Its Miss M here and I’m ready to talk about something old. Gaming in Retrograde is a chance to relive retro modes of gaming from board games to video games. Today we are going to look back at one of the fabled adventures of Link, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. For decades now Link has been starring in a slew of adventures on various Nintendo platforms. For the most part each game has been beloved by fans, if not mostly ignored by me.

I wish I could say I have played every Legend of Zelda game, but the only experiences …

Video Game Review: Papers, Please

Video Game Review: Papers, Please

PapersPleaseLogo 1024x563 Video Game Review: Papers, Please

With everyone fawning over the latest entry in the mediocre, painfully overrated and frankly boring as Twilight series known as GTA, I thought it would be the perfect time to review an indie game made by a single man called Papers, Please, a game in which you play as a man working in the border control of the fictional Eastern Bloc country of Arstotzka.

Papers, Please received quite a lot of attention when it came out nearly 2 months ago but since I was too busy doing what ever the hell I was doing in early August it completely went over …

The Elder Scrolls Online Subscription Fee Thoughts & Predictions

The Elder Scrolls Online Subscription Fee Thoughts & Predictions

b248a553a0ae995d21 The Elder Scrolls Online Subscription Fee Thoughts & Predictions

The biggest question on everyone’s mind when The Elder Scrolls Online was announced a year ago was not what species could you play as, are there specific classes, what provinces of Tamriel could you visit but what would the payment method be? Over the past few years the traditional 15 dollars a month subscription fee has fallen by the way side and has been largely replaced by the free 2 play model with a few exceptions like WoW and EVE Online.

Many people, including myself, thought there was no way in hell Bethesda would go with the 15 dollars a month …

Gamestop Expo 2013 Highlights

The Gamestop Expo wasn’t your average con. First of all, it only lasted one day, which is rather unusual since conventions generally run 2-3 days. But that was okay because this expo was more about quality than quantity. It was held at the Sands Expo Convention Center which is located just behind the Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas. The facilities were gorgeous: clean, new, spacious.  There weren’t too many cosplayers but that didn’t surprise me because this was only the second year that Gamestop decided to open up their annual gathering to the public. For years, this convention was only open …

GameStop will be holding its annual gaming tradeshow on Wednesday August 28 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.  Tony Bartel, the president of GameStop, had this to say about the event: “Based on the great response we saw at our inaugural event last year, we knew we were on to something. This year at EXPO we expect to host more than 80 developers, publishers and vendors and thousands of visitors. We are also expanding our exhibition floor, giving our partners more space to share their great games and consumer electronics with our enthusiastic fan base.”

Expect to …

BioShock 578x325 Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode 1 Trailer

Admittedly, I was avoiding Bioshock Infinite because it was above the sea and seemed like such a departure from everything I came to know and love about Bioshock. But guess what? Rapture is back folks, along with Big Daddies, Little Sisters and … could there be Splicers, too?

Okay so it’s just DLC but I’ll take it. Guess I have to go get the game now… The Burial at Sea DLC will be available in the Fall.

As you might have heard by now, Don Mattrick, former CEO for Microsoft and the big cheese behind Xbox, has relocated to Zynga, the company behind FarmVille.  I have to say, I thought it was risky of Microsoft to put out a console that wasn’t going to play any of the Xbox 360 games already on the market. And thinking they could lure people along with prospects of a new Halo game was interesting as well.

The consumer backlash was obviously swift and this latest development is proof. Of course, they backpedaled after having to watch the crowd go wild at …

Comic Book Review: Star Wars: Darth Maul – Death Sentence

Darth Maul Death Sentence Tom Taylor Comic Book Review: Star Wars: Darth Maul – Death Sentence Darth Mauls return to the Star Wars universe was met with much controversy. The character had other actually come back a few times in the EU. Once as a clone who fought Darth Vader to the death because he saw him as an unworthy Sith Lord. Once as a personality PROXY used to fight his master Starkiller in FU1. But his return in Clone Wars Season 4 was the first time the original Maul from Phantom Menace would be coming back in a canon story. I personally had the same thought process as when Jason Todd came back. If they manage …
