Shadow Of The Colossus 3D On The Right Path

Shadow Of The Colossus 3D On The Right Path

shadow of the colossus top Shadow Of The Colossus 3D On The Right Path

Couple of weeks ago, I talked about ICO and Shadow Of The Colossus 3D being released sometime this year for the PS3.  I thought it would be released in Fall but Gamespot is reporting it’ll be released in Spring, that’s in a couple of months!  They also tried out the game and here’s what they had to say about Colossus

The remastered game looks outstanding thanks to sharper textures that bring the game’s world to vivid life. The improved visuals are further complemented by a smooth frame rate, which is much more stable than in its PlayStation 2 predecessor. Like

WB has confirmed the live-action digital series of Mortal Kombat.  You won’t get the series for free on youtube as most fans thought it would be.  Instead it will be available to online digital retailers like Amazon.com and iTunes for a small fee.

Here’s the press release from WB:

“Warner Premiere today announced development of a live-action digital series based on the best-selling Mortal Kombat videogame franchise.  Directed by Kevin Tancharoen, known for his popular unofficial fan short Mortal Kombat: Rebirth which garnered over 10 million views online, and in conjunction with the upcoming Mortal Kombat videogame, this action-packed, …

Metal Gear Solid Metal Gear Solid Trilogy Coming TO PS3 In HD Glory

Following in the footsteps of God Of War and the Shadow Of The Colossus (due in fall) in delivering an HD experience for PS3 owners, Metal Gear Solid Trilogy is in the works to go high-res.  Computerandvideogame reports, “In the mag’s new issue (UK’s Official Playstation Magazine), in stores now, it reports that Snake is “in the facelift queue”, and that the “first three” MGS games are set to be reborn in High Definition.”

No date or price has been announced but if it’s all three in the bundle, it’ll probably be $60.  This franchise has enough fans that this release …

Japan Lines Up For 3DS Pre-Order

Japan Lines Up For 3DS Pre-Order

With Nintendo announcing the release date for  their next hand held system for  February 26th in Japan, the hardcore fans braved the cold day to pre-order the 3DS.  These photos were from twitter and taken by different people.  This one was taken at Akihabara Yodobashi Camera store where 260 people lined up:

In another twitter pic, people were lining up at a different store, Shinjuku Yodobashi:

This is insane.  I’ve heard of people lining up for midnight releases for movies and games but not for a pre-order.

Nintendo 3DS will be available in the U.S. on March 27, 2011.  Save yourself …

Tron & Street Fighter Art Mashup

Tron & Street Fighter Art Mashup

I thought I’d be sick with mashups by now but the artists behind these are pretty damn creative.  Earlier this week, Kuno reported about the adorable Hello Kitty/Superhero mashup.  Today, we’re presenting you another combo that nerds love: Street Fighter and Tron.  Tron Legacy has really brought out the creativity with fellow nerds.  According to geekologie, the artist behind this latest mashup is Boss Logic.  I love how the costume creates the light source for each artwork.

Let’s check them out:

Hank Chien Holds New Donkey Kong Record

Hank Chien Holds New Donkey Kong Record

hank chien1 Hank Chien Holds New Donkey Kong Record

Move over Mitchell or Wiebe, there’s a new man in town! His name is Hank Chien, and has acquired the new record for Donkey Kong. The two rivals, Michell and Wiebe, are taking time offs right now, so I’m wondering if Chien’s new score will motivate them to come back. This time, it’s going to be a three-way action.…

last guardian new screens Breathtaking Last Guardian Trailer From Team Ico

Earlier, I was thinking I should re-play Shadow Of The Colossus for the PS2 because it had pretty cool big ass creatures that you had to kill and an awesome soundtrack.  But then I already put my PS2 away and my PS3 doesn’t have backwards compatibility so I wondered if there’ll ever be a sequel to Colossus.  It turns out the makers of the game, Ico, will have  a new game by December called the Last Guardian.  Also, they’re going to release an updated version of Shadow Of The Colossus in Fall 2010 which will be in HD and 3D compatible.  …

It’s got some pretty cool angles, and the music choice is definitely a plus. Not to mention, some scenes remind me of Scorsese films like Goodfellas and such. This video took a lot of work, good job Murakawa!…

Tough Times: Rent Instead of Buying Games

Tough Times: Rent Instead of Buying Games

dead space 2 ps3 cover Tough Times: Rent Instead of Buying Games

It’s 2011 and there are already big games coming out: Dead Space 2, Mortal Kombat, KillZone 3 just to name a few. With games retailing at $60 and the economy still in a recession, what’s a gamer to do?

You rent. That’s right, rent. I first did this when COD: Black Ops came out. The game was fun but wasn’t worth the retail price. I rented it for about 4 days at my local video store and it cost me $10 ($2.50 per day). I took my time beating the game and even tried out the online …
