Hatsune Miku’s developer Crypton Future Media announced at an Anime Expo panel yesterday that they have launched a social networking site dedicated to the green-haired virtual pop idol.

Anime Expo in Los Angeles, Ca is in full swing with it’s first day of panels, events and merch finishing up.

Just ’cause the panels and main hall are closed doesn’t mean you have to go home, however.  There’s all kinds of after hours entertainment like karaoke, tabletop gaming, video screenings, all
ages dance, and more continuing through the night.

So two months ago, I re-activated my gamefly account because there were new games coming out including Portal 2 and L.A. Noire.  I think paying $50-$60 for each is too much, so I went with the rentals.  Over the two months, I probably played a total of 6 games.  Not bad for $22 per month.  I thought my membership was going to be due on the 22nd of this month, so I tried to cancel it on Sunday.  When I looked at my account, it was just renewed for another month.  It turned out my membership started on the 18th, so …

Police in Madrid, Spain have arrested three members of the  “Anonymous” group of activist/hackers.  They range in ages from 30 – 33 and are said to be leaders of the Spanish branch of the cyber-gang.  They reportedly attacked two major Spanish banks, an Italian energy company and the governments of Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Iran, Chile, Colombia and New Zealand.  The three “hacktivists” have also been charged with targeting Sony’s PlayStation Network.

Although “Anonymous” had hacked Sony in the past, they denied any participation in the latest attack on Sony, which caused the Playstation Network to shut down for almost a month. …

Nintendo announced at the E3 conference that it will be putting on a series of symphonic concerts which will span the globe in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda videogame.  Symphony orchestra performances can be pretty awesome  live.  I can only imagine what it would be like to listen to some of my favorite video game themes (like Halo Rain) performed by a huge 30+ piece orchestra.  I’ll post concert dates as they become available.  Here is the Zelda Symphonic Orchestra opening the Nintendo E3 2011 press conference.  Of course, this video probably doesn’t do the …

Yay, it’s Master Chief again! But to be honest with you, I’m bored with the Halo franchise:…

If MW 3 reminded me of The Rock, Battlefield 3 can be compared to Black Hawk Down.  Not for the actual storyline but the presentation: flying debris, the gun shots and mayhem.  The graphics looks to be higher res compared to MW 3.  But then again, it’s probably running on a high end PC while MW3 is on the Xbox 360.

Battlefield 3 is scheduled for release on 10/25/2011 , while MW3 will be out on 11/8/2011.  It should be interesting to see which FPS will be the king of 2011.…
