PS3 has supported 3D blu-rays for a while but with the feature turned on, it could only play movies in Dolby or DTS. Yesterday, Sony released the latest firmware update, 3.70. The update can now play 3D movies while supporting uncompressed/lossless sound like DTS-HD and Dolby True HD.
I popped in Tron: Legacy and the presentation was awesome. The visuals looked great, especially the light cycle battle and the sound was spectacular. The bass was nuts, especially when they’re throttling the cycles. Daft Punk’s score is even more epic because it sounds so clear and smooth.

Taste the Happy…. Over Labor Day weekend, Arnett and Bateman will be appearing at the Call of Duty XP two day festival in Playa Vista, California to celebrate all things Call of Duty. ImageEpoch just released a new trailer for the Black Rock Shooter game coming out on PSP. The Japan release date is set for August 25. There is still no word yet on when the game will be made available in the US, IF it will be. The president of the Nippon Ichi Software’s American branch (aka NIS, America) Haru Akeanga said in a recent interview that because the PSP hasn’t really taken off in the states like it has in Japan, the Black Rock Shooter Game might not be released in the US at all.

Arkham City definitely knows to please Batman fans and maybe piss them off a little bit as well. Below are the different Batman versions you can get. Only problem is that each one might only be available through different stores by pre-ordering. I’m sure they’ll release a downloadable (chiching.!!…that means money for the developers) pack for the skins in the future but it hasn’t been confirmed.

Microsoft released a sneak peak of the upcoming Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary game at their San Diego Comic-Con panel last weekend. They also announced at the E3 in June that the game (to be released ten years after the first one on November 15 for $39.99) will feature Kinect integration. Here’s a pic of the collector’s edition for Arkham City. At first I thought it was a statue by DC Direct since they did a Black & White Batman version from the first game. But this one will be from Kotobukiya and probably made of vinyl. The rest of the set includes an art book, cards, DLC and soundtrack.
