Epguide501 Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 5 Premiere Review

Star Wars: The Clone Wars has returned for a 5th season, this show is a prime example of a TV series that started out kind of meh, but grew into something really good and worthy of the Star Wars name and if the rest of season 5 can be as good as the premiere, we are in for a treat.

Revival as the episode is titled continues the story line from the season 4 finale, Darth Maul has returned and now he and his brother Savage Opress are murdering Jedi across the galaxy, now Obi-Wan and his partner Adi Gallia are …

Harley Quinn: A Retrospective

Harley Quinn: A Retrospective

Harley Quinn 1 Harley Quinn: A Retrospective

One of the most sought after of all the DC comic book characters is one who was actually created in 1992 by artists Paul Dini and Bruce Timm for the Batman: Animated Series cartoon, and whose popularity led to her later becoming a part of the comics. I am speaking of course about none other than Joker’s girlfriend, side-kick and soulmate: Harley Quinn.

In the cartoon, Harley was originally Joker’s psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum, Dr. Harleen Quinzel. She falls in love with Joker and one night loses her mind, deciding to transform herself and break him out of the asylum. Here …

Midnight, Mass., a comic first put out by DC/Vertigo in 2002, has been given the go ahead for small screen adaptation by NBC. Evan Daugherty, who co-wrote Snow White and the Huntsman, will be scripting the show and Warner Brothers will be producing.

The title Midnight, Mass. is a play on a late night Catholic church service given around Christmas time. It also refers to a coastal town in Massachusetts that, in this story, is like a supernatural playground. The main characters are a married couple who jet-set around the world working as paranormal investigators. They also have …

This looks great but my suggestion is to wait for reviews before buying, as the features look more cosmetic than anything.

Okay so the last Wonder Woman TV show was dead on arrival. A sure sign the project was in trouble before it even started was all the outcry over the costume. Then came the set photos of a decked out Wonder Woman running through the streets – yikes.

So now they’ve decided to go back and make an origin story about how Wonder Woman came to be; sort of like a feminist version of Smallville, I guess. The working title is Amazon. Grey’s Anatomy/OC scribe Allen Heinberg is penning the script but he does have some superhero experience having …

The Amazing World Of Gumball: DVD Review!

The Amazing World Of Gumball: DVD Review!

Gumball 1 719x1024 The Amazing World Of Gumball: DVD Review!

From Cartoon Network is The Amazing World of Gumball, a mixed media cartoon starring a blue cat and goldfish with legs. I was very put off by this cartoon because of the advertisements and the fact that it is created with mixed media. However, it seems that watching the commercial free DVD has found me a new show to enjoy!

The Amazing World of Gumball is very funny and features some good messages for the kids, it is comedy based so it is full of slapstick—falling on their faces and other bruising impacts for these poor characters.

The main character …

Power Rangers DVD Review: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Season One, Voume One

The fine people at Shout have given us (finally) the first in a series of DVDs set for the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The series was a huge smash with kids and developed a cult audience with older viewers. The acting and effects are nothing special (to be kind), but the series is a high-energy blast of cheesy fun for fans and newcomers alike. This original Power Rangers was the best incarnation of the series and this 3 DVD set continues the first 30 episodes of season one of the series.

There are no extras but the video and audio …

Squidbillies-Volume Five: DVD Review!

Squid 1 721x1024 Squidbillies Volume Five: DVD Review!

Squidbillies, the most screwed up animated show from Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim evening block was rather enjoyable for someone like myself who has never watched it before the DVD. Although I saw many commercials, I just didn’t have interest in it mainly because as a fan of Anime, I’ve become an animation snob and don’t care too much for something so primitive.

Unbelievably funny, Squidbillies can take a non-fan to a constant watcher after just one episode. VERY adult and probably something to keep away from the kids without parental guidance, this animated will split your sides as you laugh …

Legend of Korra Movie?

Legend of Korra Movie?

Storyboard artist job Nickelodeon Legend of Korra TV Icon Legend of Korra Movie?

Some rumors have been circling around the Interwebz these past few days, it details a possible Legend of Korra movie made by Paramount. The film is apparently NOT live action but rather traditional animation like the show and the original series Avatar TLA and has a budget of a 100 million.

So what could be story of this film? I personally have no clue, but at least its animated like the show and not like the monstrosity that shall never be named, this news could get even better if the original creators are put on because they’ve proven they can do …

First Set Photos from Arrested Development Season 4

After probably the longest hiatus in Television episodic comedy series history, season 4 of Arrested Development has finally begun shooting!  The show will be available exclusively on Netflix sometime in 2013. Yesterday marked the first day of filming for the Bluth gang and if you’re as skeptical as I was when I first heard the news, here’s a pic that Jason Bateman tweeted from the set.

In Arrested Development style this episode appears to feature cameos from Workaholics‘ actors Adam Devine and Anders Holm. Not sure what’s going on but it definitely looks like an airport scene. Here are more …
