Star Wars: The Clone Wars has returned for a 5th season, this show is a prime example of a TV series that started out kind of meh, but grew into something really good and worthy of the Star Wars name and if the rest of season 5 can be as good as the premiere, we are in for a treat.

One of the most sought after of all the DC comic book characters is one who was actually created in 1992 by artists Paul Dini and Bruce Timm for the Batman: Animated Series cartoon, and whose popularity led to her later becoming a part of the comics. Midnight, Mass., a comic first put out by DC/Vertigo in 2002, has been given the go ahead for small screen adaptation by NBC. Evan Daugherty, who co-wrote Snow White and the Huntsman, will be scripting the show and Warner Brothers will be producing.

The title Midnight, Mass. is a play on a late night Catholic church service given around Christmas time. It also refers to a coastal town in Massachusetts that, in this story, is like a supernatural playground. Okay so the last Wonder Woman TV show was dead on arrival. A sure sign the project was in trouble before it even started was all the outcry over the costume. Then came the set photos of a decked out Wonder Woman running through the streets – yikes.

From Cartoon Network is The Amazing World of Gumball, a mixed media cartoon starring a blue cat and goldfish with legs. I was very put off by this cartoon because of the advertisements and the fact that it is created with mixed media. However, it seems that watching the commercial free DVD has found me a new show to enjoy!

The Amazing World of Gumball is very funny and features some good messages for the kids, it is comedy based so it is full of slapstick—falling on their faces and other bruising impacts for these poor characters.

The fine people at Shout have given us (finally) the first in a series of DVDs set for the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The series was a huge smash with kids and developed a cult audience with older viewers. The acting and effects are nothing special (to be kind), but the series is a high-energy blast of cheesy fun for fans and newcomers alike. This original Power Rangers was the best incarnation of the series and this 3 DVD set continues the first 30 episodes of season one of the series.

Squidbillies, the most screwed up animated show from Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim evening block was rather enjoyable for someone like myself who has never watched it before the DVD. Although I saw many commercials, I just didn’t have interest in it mainly because as a fan of Anime, I’ve become an animation snob and don’t care too much for something so primitive.

Some rumors have been circling around the Interwebz these past few days, it details a possible Legend of Korra movie made by Paramount. The film is apparently NOT live action but rather traditional animation like the show and the original series Avatar TLA and has a budget of a 100 million.

After probably the longest hiatus in Television episodic comedy series history, season 4 of Arrested Development has finally begun shooting!  The show will be available exclusively on Netflix sometime in 2013. Yesterday marked the first day of filming for the Bluth gang and if you’re as skeptical as I was when I first heard the news, here’s a pic that Jason Bateman tweeted from the set.
