Ok, the third episode for Heroes Season 3 starts out ok.  The storyline in this week’s episode revolves around Sylar helping HRG to capture the Level 5 fugitives.  HRG is forced to partner up with his rival in order to stop a group that is supposedly more dangerous than Sylar; meanwhile, Claire ditches school so that she can learn from her mom, who can create fire, to fight against bad guys.  Hiro and Ando are still on their pursuit to find Daphne, the speedster, and Tracy Strauss is figuring out who Nikki is and why Nikki looks just like her.…

Rant Of The Week: The Unit

Rant Of The Week: The Unit

TheUnit Rant Of The Week: The Unit

Editor’s Note: A couple of days after writing this article, I found out Eric Haney, the technical advisor and whose book the show is based on, quit. He probably also didn’t like where the show was heading….

The Unit is about a military team consisting of Delta Forces (the best special forces in the U.S. military). The show also gives us an insight to the team’s personal relationship with their families. Created by David Mamet, produced by Shawn Ryan (Shield) and executive produced by a former founding members of the Delta Force, Eric Haney, the show pulled no punches. Unlike most …

Heroes Third Season Premiere a Zero, or a Hero?

Heroes Third Season Premiere a Zero, or a Hero?

Ok, wow, is all I gotta say. After a very disappointing Season 2, the third season premiere is putting Heroes back on track.

Heroes is such a phenomenon that they had a one hour third season premiere special before the actual episode started.  It was like a red carpet extravaganza involving the cast, fans from all over the world, contest winners, behind the scenes footage and sneak peeks.  It was enjoyable to see the cast hanging out with each other as friends compared to seeing them rip each other’s heads off in Heroes.  All the cast members hosting were good except …

Fanboy Obsession of the Week: Kamen Rider Dragon Knight Trailer

Fanboy Obsession of the Week: Kamen Rider Dragon Knight Trailer

I’m almost embarassed to say this, but the new American Kamen Rider looks totally badass.  It’s got it all: an incoherent mythology that would land David Lynch in therapy, lots of fighing, cheesy effects, and slightly better than Power Rangers production values.  I was a big Power Rangers fan and this at least looks better than the incompetent Power Rangers ripoffs.

Here’s the official US trailer (the show is debuting at mid-season on The CW4Kids block on Sat mornings):

” The Kamen Riders are the defenders of Ntara, the world that exists behind your mirrors ! ” — WTF !!!!!!!…

Fall TV Preview: Turbo Boost Edition

Fall TV Preview: Turbo Boost Edition

bridgetcraigforest Fall TV Preview: Turbo Boost Edition  The Legend of the Seeker

The fall season of television is starting (or has already started).  I strip down the hype and give you a night by night rundown of tv series (both old and new) that are worth your time.

Monday

Heroes (NBC, 9pm)- Heroes had a weak-ass season last year.  The dreaded sophomore slump took its toll, but I’m hoping the show rebounds nicely in its 3rd season called “Villains”.  I can’t wait !

One Tree Hill (The CW, 9pm)- One Tree Hill (OTH, OMFG!) has already begun its sixth season complete with torture porn, Coldplay, female empowerment (Sophia …

Smallville’s Top 10 Episodes

Smallville’s Top 10 Episodes

 Smallvilles Top 10 Episodes

Smallville is one of my favorite series on the air.  It’s just about to start its 8th (and most likely, final) season on Thursday, September 18th on The CW Network.  I wanted to take the time to do a top ten list.  These are my ten favorite episodes of the series in order, and as a longtime fan, it wasn’t easy.

Top 10:

1. Run- Clark meets a young version of The Flash in this flashy and fast-paced episode written by Jeph Loeb.  Smallville at its most fun.

2. Red- Clark is exposed to red kryptonite and it changes his personality …

R.I.P. Bernie Mac

R.I.P. Bernie Mac

pre2 R.I.P. Bernie Mac

I just heard on the news that Bernie Mac died from pneumonia, he was 50 years old.  You can read more about his career here.  I’ll remember him for his tv show on FOX, the self titled, Bernie Mac Show.  The show was funny with a lot of truth to it.  He also had a great cameo in Transformers.

Rest in peace, Bernie.…

Film Review: The X-Files: I Want to Believe

xfiles2 galleryposter Film Review: The X Files: I Want to Believe

Growing up, The X-Files was one of my favorite shows.  As a self-described X-Files nerd (check the name I write under, guys and gals), I was eagerly anticipating the new X Files movie.  Subtitled “I Want to Believe”, it’s the perfect sentiment for fans who were let down by the last few seasons of the show.  Chris Carter’s once great show had devolved into parody and truly became bad when nine seasons in they decided to “restart” the show, only with Scully as the believer (huh) and the poorly cast Robert Patrick as the skeptic.  I’m happy to report that the …

OneTreeHill Guilty Pleasure Rave: One Tree Hill

“Tree Hill is just a place somewhere in the world, but if you look closer, you might see someone like you. Someone trying to find their way, someone trying to find themself” — Lucas Scott, One Tree Hill

One Tree Hill has been my not so secret guilty pleasure since it debuted on television back in 2003. It was meant to be the next Dawson’s Creek for The WB but it has been on the bubble at the end of almost every season till this one, now its a solid little niche hit for The CW and has already been renewed …
