This week’s episode of Kamen Rider is easily the best of the series so far. An important episode that sets up a good chunk of the rest of the series. The episode is all about loyalty, friendship, and sacrifice. One of the riders makes the ultimate sacrifice to save another. The acting is improving each week and especially interesting is the character of Kamen Rider Sting. Merlin and the Book of Beasts is a typical Sci-Fi Channel original movie. It has awful acting, cheap-looking production design, and some of the worst CG effects viewers will ever see. Merlin has been an enduring legend and there are many notable incarnations worth checking out. The latest is a series from The BBC called Merlin, and is something of a new spin on the legend, taking its cues from the popular Smallville series. It’s bright and entertaining, unlike the trainwreck of a movie reviewed here.

From BBC Video comes the 60 minute Easter Special of Doctor Who entitled Planet of the Dead. After 4 seasons of the decades old series, the BBC is releasing a few single episode videos which are aired on BBC America and of course in England. After 25 years and a year and a half waiting, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra has finally hit the screens. The film had a strong start as they introduced the characters whom brought the cartoons, comic books and action figures to life. Although there were changes and other alterations from the actual characters—some of these changes were improvements on the originals.  Others were destructive.

What could’ve been a great TV show, wasn’t so great afterall. The whole season was full of surprises, and interesting characters. But, somehow, they manage to wreck the finale. What a disappointment, all the build up, the interesting sub-plots, suddenly took a dive in the last episode.

I recently attended Comic-Con and let me say it was a blast, well that’s because I was busy flirting with the babes (shhh, don’t tell the girlfriend). Throughout the event, we did video interviews and got a chance to attend the Kamen Rider panel.
