Early Movie Review: Toy Story 1 & 2 in 3-D

toy story 3d comp Early Movie Review: Toy Story 1 & 2 in 3 D

Toy Story, the franchise that made Pixar a household name will be back in theatres for two weeks starting October 2.  Toy Story 1 and 2 will be presented in 3-D and shown as a double feature.  I had the opportunity to watch both movies at D23 and they were still great.

Toy Story plot from IMDB:

A cowboy toy is profoundly threatened and jealous when a fancy spaceman toy supplants him as top toy in a boy’s room.

Review:

Released in 95 as the first full length CG flick, Toy Story became a phenomenom.  It was adorned by critics and …

Bitch’in Toy Of The Week: “The Doctor!”

Bitch’in Toy Of The Week: “The Doctor!”

Rex 679x1024 Bitchin Toy Of The Week: The Doctor!

Usually when you order something from the internet you know what your going to get and sometimes you don’t. So, what becomes your reaction when you expect to get what you saw, not something a hundred times better!

Rex “The Doctor” Lewis from G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra–he is dressed in white, not black as was shown on the website. Turns out that “White” Rex is rare, hot and going for about $65.00 on Ebay. I don’t plan to sell, but sometimes I wonder if I should have ordered a bunch and went nuts selling on Ebay–however, I thought …

Internet Done Right: Project HABU

Internet Done Right: Project HABU

The internet: It’s full of complaints and whining, especially message boards.  Trolls are everywhere stirring up e-fights and flaming board members.  While trolls are out there, Louis Fifer is helping Spawn’s message board members with Operation HABU (Hook A Brother Up).  Fifer, aka HydraSpawn on the boards, first got my attention when someone started a “Thank You” thread.  I checked it out and I was amazed that several board members donated some cash to help out fellow members who were in financial need.  I asked who organized the project and everyone pointed to Mr. Fifer.  I did some more research and …

Vintage Toy Of The Week: Super Ninja and “Friends.”

Vintage Toy Of The Week: Super Ninja and “Friends.”

NN1 1024x768 Vintage Toy Of The Week: Super Ninja and Friends.

Month’s back Chuck Norris was featured as a vintage toy, so I thought I would introduce his nemesis, Super Ninja. The “Karate Kommandos” led by Chuck had to face the purple clad Super Ninja and his ninja soldiers. His foot claw was a deadly weapon along with his fancy sword (which I no longer have.) The red and black ninja soldiers each came with nunchuks and a butterfly sword. The soldiers action was a wind-up karate chop and Super Ninja turned at the waist and could kick.

The black ninja that looks like Super Ninja is unknown to me. I don’t …

Comment Poll: Which Cobra Commander Is Your Favorite?

Comment Poll: Which Cobra Commander Is Your Favorite?

The following is a readers comment poll. By posting YOUR choice in the comments section YOU can make yourself heard!

I have been asked by multiple people; which version of Cobra Commander is my favorite? That can be a hard question to answer. So I’ll give my answer in the comments and the reason why.
Although there are many versions of the Cobra leader to choose from; I’ve picked 4 of the more well-known.

METAL PLATE: In 1983, viewers first saw the Cobra Commander in this outfit.  The shiny metal plate covering his face, paired with the helmet made him …

Destro double 1024x777 Toy Review: SDCC Destro 2pk

The 2009 San Diego Comicon had quite a list of exclusives, however I found my favorite! The Destro two pack features a pair of very well detailed 3 3/4 G.I. Joe figures depicting James McCullen IX and XXIV.

James McCullen IX from the opening of the movie: G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, comes complete with armor, a Pike, a black powder pistol and a sword. The best part of course is a “metal” mask that resembles and works just like the movie prop–minus being red hot!

On the other side of the “book” is the one and only Destro …

G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra. 80’s HC Fan Review.

Baroness6 G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra. 80s HC Fan Review.
After 25 years and a year and a half waiting, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra has finally hit the screens. The film had a strong start as they introduced the characters whom brought the cartoons, comic books and action figures to life. Although there were changes and other alterations from the actual characters—some of these changes were improvements on the originals.  Others were destructive.

As a fan since the beginning I’ve offered up some reviews of the current and past action figures; the animated movie and even a sealed specialty—rare Headman figure. I’m sure you, the reader is curious to …

Classic Movie Review: G.I. Joe The Movie!

Classic Movie Review: G.I. Joe The Movie!

In 1987 the animated Movie for G.I. Joe came out to a catchy theme song in the opening credit’s. From the beginning of the movie until the end, viewers were treated to some nice art and good animation. The cast included all the names from the TV show plus Don Johnson–star of “Miami Vice” as Lt. Falcon, Duke’s Half Brother. Also in the cast and well voiced was Burgess MeredithMickey in Rocky, Penguin in the 60’s Batman and a great actor all in all. Burgess was the evil Cobra La leader Golobulus. …

Vintage Toy(s) Of The Week: G.I. Joe!

Vintage Toy(s) Of The Week: G.I. Joe!

GI 1 1024x768 Vintage Toy(s) Of The Week: G.I. Joe!

In 1982 the 3 ¾ inch G.I. Joe figures came out to straight arms that could bend but not rotate and very basic molds. These vintage selections are the remains of my collection. Starting with a 1984 “Hooded” Cobra Commander, this was a mail-away item. The Commander had come with a small gun which snapped into his back—this is long gone… Reviewing these Joes brings back a lot of memories and even sadness. The sadness is caused by remembering what I had. I actually had the Terrordrome! Now how does something that big disappear!?

I had a few “Stuns” …
