Vintage Toy: Gloria Baker From M.A.S.K.

Vintage Toy: Gloria Baker From M.A.S.K.

Gloria 1 1024x417 Vintage Toy: Gloria Baker From M.A.S.K.

If I count; I’ve waited 25 years for this figure.

Gloria Baker was the only female member of the M.A.S.K. team. The vehicle she drove was called “Shark.” This vehicle has so many rumors and urban legends having to do with the toy it’s not funny anymore. Some of these are that it existed for a day, a few hours, “I have one, but I lost it” so much bull and no proof. So, I know if I simply say, “It didn’t exist, ever!” People would start screaming and going nuts. That’s my view though–everyone else can enjoy their fantasy of …

Bitch’in Toy Of The Week: Snake Eyes: City Strike!

Bitch’in Toy Of The Week: Snake Eyes: City Strike!

Snake Eyes 1 758x1024 Bitchin Toy Of The Week: Snake Eyes: City Strike!

I’m not a huge fan of Snake Eyes like everyone else. In the original show he was hardly in it after the 82-85 specials where he didn’t have a beef with Storm Shadow at all. He was interesting if you attached him to the original toy line and not the comic and cartoon because he was one of the first figures made. He was almost called “Spook” originally; as in ghost.   I will admit that I currently own 4 versions of the Movie figures–just to sell in 20 years mint on card and in perfect condition. But, I like this one.…

Batman Statue From Arkham Asylum Game

Batman Statue From Arkham Asylum Game

bm.bw.arkham.asylum 02 Batman Statue From Arkham Asylum Game

This statue will come out in November for a price of $80.  The design is based from the hit Batman game, Arkham Asylum.  While it looks good and it even has the trademark big ass batarang, $80 is a bit much for 7 inch statue .…

Collections: Part 2.

Last time in Collections: Part 1 I talked about options and display, in this; part 2, I’ll talk about some Do’s and Dont’s along with alternating and storage.

Do: Enjoy what you are collecting.  If you are going to put out the money and time, you should enjoy all of what you see on display.
Don’t: Collect what ever there is if it doesn’t give you satisfaction or pleasure.  You never want to ask yourself, “Why did I get that?”

Do: Shop around for the best price for a current or older/rare item. You’ll be more …

Bitch’in Toy Of The Week: Electrostatic Soundwave!

Bitch’in Toy Of The Week: Electrostatic Soundwave!

Soundblaster 1 676x1023 Bitchin Toy Of The Week: Electrostatic Soundwave!

It was more than 6 months ago when I found the possible production of Electrostatic Soundwave–from here on called Soundblaster. In the last (un-produced on DVD) season of Transformers Animated, Soundwave returned and was animated in the form of this. The black and red are a “shout-out” to the classic 80’s rebuilding of Soundwave after he and Blaster (Broadcast) “killed” each other in the series–this of course was in Japan, not shown to us here in the U.S. What else is new…

Soundwave had become Soundblaster and this figure is a great way to have your own! Although the Animated show …

Toy Review: Hot Toys Matrix Sentinel

Toy Review: Hot Toys Matrix Sentinel

We have a review for the Hot Toys Sentinel courtesy of Eric B.  Is it worth the $60 price tag?  Let’s find out:

I got my pre-ordered Hot Toys Sentinel in today earlier than expected. This is my first and only HT product, as I have yet to encounter anything of theirs that I have felt the need to own. Regardless of how far clothed dolls have come, I still have a strong disinterest toward them as a collector. As far as I’m concerned, they might as well come with a pink hair brush. Of course, I am being facetious when …

Bitch’in Toy Of The Week: Cobra Viper Commando With Serpent Armor!

Bitch’in Toy Of The Week: Cobra Viper Commando With Serpent Armor!

So…it’s Saturday, I worked all day and come home tired and all I want to do is rest and waste time on the internet…Well, I went to a certain specialty shop that thinks everything is hot and rare and charges double, triple, quadruple! And people seem to buy it…

Well, NOT ME!

I’ve been looking for a 1983 S.N.A.K.E. Armor from the original G.I. Joe line for maybe a year and a half and kept putting it off. Retailing for about $3 in 1983 it now goes for $15 on average loose and a bit more packaged. Then, out of nowhere …

Collections: Part 1

Collections: Part 1

Many of us either have collections or thought about starting one. Our collection might be small with just a few items, in the middle with quite a bit, or very large that includes everything that we can find on the subject.

This series of articles is intended to give ideas to new collectors and for current collectors, I hope to bring a smile and some nods–maybe even a few new ideas.

All the pictures posted in part one are of my own collections, hopefully they will give a good idea of how much joy or possible sorrow (joke!) that a collection …

Best & Worst of 2009

Best & Worst of 2009

Here’s NERDSociety’s Best & Worst List of 09!

Movie

district 9 new image 4 Best & Worst of 2009
The bad ass mech suit in District 9

Best: District 9

District 9 was a nerd’s wet dream.  For a budget of $30 million, director  Neill Blomkamp created a sci fi movie that had awesome special effects that rivaled big budget movies. Unlike most sci fi movies where it focuses more on special effects,  Blomkamp focused on a compelling story of the struggle between humans and aliens.  The best part of the movie was the last 20 minutes.  It was epic because the action scenes reminded you of your favorite FPS video …
