Action Figures: 12-inch Assassin’s Creed

Action Figures: 12-inch Assassin’s Creed

As part of Hot Toys’ Video Game Masterpiece Series, here are some early photos of the Assassin’s Creed II action figure.

AC03 Action Figures: 12 inch Assassins Creed

AC04 Action Figures: 12 inch Assassins Creed

AC05 Action Figures: 12 inch Assassins Creed

I’m afraid that this type of costume might not translate too well in 12-inch figures. But, all I can say is WOW! Even more impressive is that this is Hot Toys’ first Renaissance Era action figure.

Price hasn’t been set yet, but based on their other figures, I’m guessing at least $175.

Release date: End of Q3, 2010

Toys: MOTU – Chief Carnivus

Toys: MOTU – Chief Carnivus

Ever since I was a kid, I always thought of Masters Of The Universe as He-Man.  But since Mattel restarted the franchise, they like to be hip and call it MOTU.  Maybe it’s because they think He-Man sounds homo erotic, but He-Man is easier to say DAMMIT!  Well enough with the rant and back to the toy that’s pictured below.  That’s Chief Carnivus…get it? Because he’s a lion and they’re carnivores.  That’s one thing I like about He-Man, they had names that matched their personality and appearance.

This figure looks bad ass.  His costume reminds me of …

SDCC Exclusive: Batman And Joker Mez-Itz

SDCC Exclusive: Batman And Joker Mez-Itz

Never heard of Mez-Itz?  Well think of  Hasbro’s Mighty Muggs but created by Mezco.  Mez-Itz looks identical except there figures has a neck.  The Batman and Joker set will cost you $40.  I guess the prices for these are also higher compared to the Mighty Muggs because those retailed from $10 -$13.

Batman looks good and Mezco put a nice touch by including a batarang.   I wish Joker came with a tommy gun but DC probably didn’t allow it.

You can pre order these bad boys here.

RetroASeries2CardBk1 More DC Retro Figures Coming Soon

Mattel has released pictures of DC Retro-Action Wave 2 figures.  These 8″ figures is exclusive to Toys R Us and retails for $19.99.  Mattel has done a great creating the retro feel with the oversized clothes and big heads.  Even the package looks like it came from the 70′s, with the pink backboard, retro art and creases on the package.  My favorite of the line is Two Face.  His face looks cartoony and his colorful suit screams 70’s!!

The toys will arrive at your Toys R Us pegs sometime this month.

A Look Back At Eureka SeVen

A Look Back At Eureka SeVen

E7 boxes 1024x734 A Look Back At Eureka SeVen

The Anime Eureka SeVen has had mixed reviews in the past, some people say it’s too long at 50 episodes and others love it. I’d say that I’m in the middle and find it great on a lot of levels such as the story in itself and negative by how annoying the main characters get on their slow road to finding themselves.

The DVD’s took about 2 years to collect. Having to wait every other month for the next disk to come out was like waiting for paint to dry. Most of the disks came out in a special edition which …

HM1 DVD Review: Masters Of The Universe Complete Series 2002

From 2002-2003 Mattel revived He-Man and The Masters of the Universe both into a new cartoon and toy line.
When the series first came to DVD there were complaints that chunks from episodes were missing and that the cut wasn’t very good.

The Complete Series offers all 39 episodes in wide screen format, with an approximate cost of $15.00.  The set comes in a large clam-shell case with four disks popped into the center of the case. The disks are sadly packaged in CD-ROM sleeves made of paper with a clear plastic center. Cheap–yeah, however, you can always spend a few …

Masters Of The Universe Classics.

Masters Of The Universe Classics.

KelFak Masters Of The Universe Classics.

The Masters of the Universe Classics collection might end up being the most valuable toys ever created. They sell out on the first day they come out, they resell for double (sometimes) and they are almost impossible to get when they do appear on the Mattycollector.com website.

Featured here are Keldor and Faker. These figures came out on the website on June 15th. I ordered in the afternoon before work and I spent forever waiting for the page to automatically reload. Due to the difficulty, I ordered Keldor alone, then ordered Faker later that day.

The figures cost $20.00 each and …

Wizard World Philly: The Memories…

Wizard World Philly: The Memories…

Paladin here, CCFMDS and I went on a new journey by attending the Wizard World Comic convention in Philadelphia PA as Press.

Apparently we have both agreed that the press pass is a free ticket, not a key that gives all access. However, we did get to enjoy some good old fashioned “stepping in” to enjoy the panels of actors–no obnoxiously long lines for us!

Armed with the tools of the trade, including a small bag to hold my note pad, business cards, pens and 2 movies that I had the intent to get signed by a very special actor; I …

wizardworld philly Preview Of Wizard World Philly 2010!

This weekend, NERDsociety.com will be attending the Wizard World: Philly, pop culture convention at the Philadelphia Convention center.

Some of the special guests are Patrick Stewart–no description needed. However, I will mention that between Star Trek, X-Men, the Anime Steamboy and countless performances on stage and screen, he is the highlight of this convention.

Also appearing is Bruce Campbell of Evil Dead fame, he has also been on many fantasy TV shows from the Hercules and Xena days where he played the character Autolycus. He also starred in Jack of All Trades and Brisco County Jr.

A comical actor whose voice …
