I’m not too excited about ‘Dark Knight Rises’, but I want this figure, right off the bat (hehe…..get it? Bat, Batman?…….nevermind) I knew it was Bane. The man who broke Batman’s back!

The white mailer box is great, like The Wind Raider and The Star Sisters it has a misprint of “Snake Mountain” printed at the bottom where “Cringer” was at the bottom of the Star Sisters box and “Battle Ram Chariot” was at the bottom of the Wind Raider box–it’s got to be a puzzle game…? OR, Maybe not–whatever.

The Mattycollector.com Masters of the Universe Classics subscription has begun again for this, the 30th anniversary of Masters of the Universe. New for this year is a 30th anniversary logo and a really messed up subscription schedule starting in the first month. Hot Toys has teased us again with more cool movie 1/6th memorabilias. This time it’s for the Nolan Batman franchise.
The first figure they have revealed for the upcoming Dark Knight Rises will be Bane. Since it’s a teaser pic, it doesn’t show the whole figure. The figure’s costume looks exactly the same as Bane’s in the clips we’ve seen.

Hot Toys has released 2 pictures of Red Skull & Iron Man Mark I that will be released sometime this year. The collectors are torn between the news. Everyone agrees that Red Skull looks great (even though he was a crappy villain in the movie). Plenty of die hard Hot Toys fans are mad that Mark I is being re-released. There’s 2 reasons why they’re pissed:
1) Hot Toys needs to stop re-releasing figures, especially Iron Man. Focus on new characters.
2) The value of the original toy will considerably go down.

Lego used to make Batman sets a couple of years ago but it tanked. No one bought it and they were on clearance. I picked up several sets for 50% at Target and now they’re worth a lot. December, the final month of the subscription service from Mattycollector.com—thankfully… Missing is Demo-Man–the concept of Skeletor was delayed until Janurary so for now it’s Battleground Evil-Lyn and The Wind Raider.
Battleground Evil-Lyn is a repaint of standard Evil-Lyn however; it’s a very nice figure and comes with some cool extras. So…I was on the subscription for 10 months and then switched from my credit card to my bank card and it didn’t go through when they went to get the payment. I called their number in India and they couldn’t help me, so I am now off of the subscription–and they say you can’t cancel, its too easy to cancel, oh well!

The sculpts and paint jobs keep getting better for Kotobukiya’s Bishoujo line. I think this might be there best figure to date. It has a nice pose and the paint job looks stunning, it doesn’t look too shiny and plasticky (is that even a word?).
