Ready for a mega sized Vintage Toy of the Month? After much work, the Crystal Falls is ready for its debut on NerdSociety! After all, nothing says play set like a water wonderland for She-Ra and her friends. So let’s begin this truly epic look back on one fun vintage toy.

After being on the market for a few months, the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures seem to be selling well. Made by Playmates, these figures have very nice cartoon detail and a ton of articulation considering that in the past, the figures had minimal, standard articulation.

Starting with the Turtles, each figure is packaged in a great card and bubble with CG cartoon artwork and a turtle shell imprinted pattern on the bubble. Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael look great on the cards for those who collect mint on card.

Here’s Mattel’s Marketing Manager pitching for pre-orders on the new envisioned Castle Grayskull. The main difference is the size, this Castle was going to be gigantic. But, Mattel needs certain amount of pre-orders for the Castle to be built. So far, there isn’t nearly enough. The price range is $250, which is probably the main reason for the sad news. Or, maybe Mattel should try to pitch the idea by using an actual Toy, rather than a foam version.

The subscription for Voltron Classics is finally over and now the Defender of the Universe is complete. This new Voltron (called Go-Lion in Japan) is a huge 23” tall and larger than life! Although each lion is a bit cheap in quality, paint application, lop-sided stickers and legs that won’t stay locked in place; the lions are also huge with opening cockpits for the 3 ¾ inch figures to sit inside and are amazing in a positive way.

In a line that was riddled with complaints from the time of the subscription drive, the end result for those who were lucky …

Continuing off of the Green and Yellow Lions from the Club Lion Force, Voltron Classics collection, are the Red and Blue Lions!

Lance is the hot shot pilot of the Red Lion, the first piece sent on the subscription. Named Isamu ‘Moody’ Kurogane in the original Go-Lion, Lance seems to have a hissy fit when he doesn’t get his way—who could blame him, after all, he has to be under Keith when he truly is the best—or so he thinks…

Finally, the Black Lion has come after too many months of waiting! If the huge box was any indication of how big this thing was, then opening it was a shock to the system! Complete with Pilot Keith, the leader of the Voltron Force, this final selection is the icing on the cake!

Keith also known as Akira ‘Chief’ Kogane in the original Anime Go-Lion, was a true heroic character.
