Hulu Coming to the 360?

Dashboard Xbox copy Hulu Coming to the 360?For some time, Hulu has hinted at possible subscription plans, but have never followed through. At least until now. There is speculation that Microsoft plans to unveil Hulu support for Xbox LIVE. That means the Xbox 360, not the iPad, will be the first to utilize the subscription-based pay version of the streaming TV/movie service. There has not been an actual confirmation from Microsoft or Hulu as of yet, but “a reliable source” for Gear Live has made the claim.

Now if these rumors are true, it will bring up a few questions. What prices are they looking to charge for …

HTC Droid Incredible Verizon Wireless HTC Pays George Lucas For DROID Copyrights

So there was something very interesting I noticed while watching the commercials for the new HTC DROID Incredible phone, Verizon’s new exclusive phone.  At the end of the commercial at the bottom of the screen in not so visible lettering it says “DROID is a trademark of Lucasfilm Ltd.”

So it turns  out that indeed George Lucas owns the rights to the word “Droid,”  the copyright was registered in 1977 before the release of STAR WARS: A New Hope.  So you’d think that since they’re already paying for the licensing they’d at least come out with a couple Star Wars …

Apple and Adobe – Like Oil and Water

Apple and Adobe – Like Oil and Water

WeLoveNS Apple and Adobe Like Oil and WaterIf you have not visited the Adobe website lately (http://www.adobe.com), you probably have not seen the latest exchange between tech giants Adobe and Apple.  An open cryptic letter resides top and center of Adobe’s homepage in <gasp> flash, so obviously, do not try to view this on your iPads :].

In case you missed it, here’s the history of this present-day clash of the titans:

The first iPhone was released in 2007 and much to everyone’s dismay, the iPhone did not support the popular new-age web development tool, Adobe Flash.  Four Apple hardware and OS iterations later, it’s the same story …

“Skinput”: A User Interface On Your Arm

“Skinput”: A User Interface On Your Arm

This new device, which is currently in development at Carnegie Mellon, will allow users to control devices by tapping parts of their arm/fingers.  It is currently a strap that goes on your bicep, but they hope to get it down to the size of a watch.  In the video they demonstrate how a user could tap parts of their forearm to control an MP3 player, and also how a game like Tetris can be controlled by tapping one’s fingers.

Ipod Touch iPod/iPhone App of the Week: The Simpsons Arcade (Electronic Arts)

This weekend I decided to review The Simpsons Arcade app. A fun, old-school button masher that works exceedingly well with the touch screen. Controls are much more responsive than most apps I’ve played before and the game provides a lot of humor and action. The best thing about the game though are the graphics. They are often stunning, bright and colorful. Simpsons fans who remember the old arcade game will love this. It’s a mostly faithful rendition of that arcade classic. My only complaint is that you can only play as Homer (but other Simpsons family members do pop up to …

Ipod Touch Tech Review: Apple ipod Touch 8G

Getting an ipod touch was probably the best gift I’ve ever gotten in my life. It’s advertised as a touch screen Mp3 player but it does so much more. If you have a wireless router (you can get a good linksys router for 50 bucks or so), you can get online with it and use the touch anywhere in your house. A lot of places also have free, unlocked wifi connections for you to go to surf the web as well. Everywhere from your local library, to Mcdonalds, to that hipster coffee bar downtown has free wifi these days. If you …

Thanks UPS: The Tale Of A Plasma TV

I had an awesome 30-inch Sony CRT but it just wasn’t as grand when compared to John Spartan’s 40-inch LCD.  I mean when you’re watching Transformers, it’s just more epic on a bigger screen.  I decided to get a plasma because the blacks are darker compared to LCD’s but it cost about $300 more.  I ordered it online and I finally got it yesterday.

I’ll let the pictures tell the story of what happened next:

iPad Confuses Me

iPad Confuses Me

iPad iPad Confuses Me

So the brilliant Steve Jobs showed off the long rumored iPad.  iPad is similar to an iPhone in that you can have have a gazillion apps ready at your helm and a touch screen.  The difference is that the iPad has 9.7 inches of screen.  You can go online with it so you can check Facebook and read news articles.  But besides having a big ass screen, who wants to carry a tablet around?

If I want a screen that big, I might as well get a laptop for the same price, $500.  Sure, the laptop is bulkier and heavier but …
