Dell Tech Support Exploits Cougar

Dell Tech Support Exploits Cougar

A Dell tech support from India took advantage of a woman’s computer ignorance.  Tara Fitzgerald might be ignorant to the digital world but she’s not so innocent in real life as she took nude pics of herself, hoping to send it to her boyfriend.  She uploaded it to her Dell laptop but didn’t know how to find it once it was saved in the hard drive.  She panicked that her 14 year old daughter would find the pics and called Dell’s tech support to find the nudes.  Riyaz Shaikh from India picked up the call and with Fitzgerald’s permission, accessed her

Google Earth Used For Town Revenue

Google Earth Used For Town Revenue

Due to the economic downfalls, cities are finding ways to make money.  In the city of Long Island, NY, they’ve found a way to make an extra $75k to make money by using a free tool:  Google Earth.  The city charges $300 for a pool permit but they wanted to check out which ones were paid for.  They checked Google Earth, zoomed in on neighborhoods and found about 250 homes without permits.  They contacted the home owners without the pool permits and most of them coughed up the fee.

Bloomberg has reported that Apple CEO, Steve Jobs was informed with the antenna problem early in the design phase.  Apple still went through with the design and now they’re facing scrutiny from their loyal fans.  The iPhone has been reported to drop calls when you hold it vertically aka “iPhone 4 Death Grip.”  Users suggested holding it horizontally to get better reception.  Consumer Reports suggested that users shouldn’t buy the iPhone 4, it’s the first time they didn’t reccomend an iPhone.

Apple today released a patch through iTunes, no word yet if it fixes the problem. The issue could cost Apple …

AT-AT Day Afternoon

AT-AT Day Afternoon

You ever wonder what it would be like to have an AT-AT as a pet?  Well in real life, they’re not as big as in Empire Strikes Back, they’re more like the size of a dog.  Maybe they got smaller ever since Star Wars since that was set “A long time ago.”

Check out this AT-AT:

Below is the behind the scenes of the short film:

I’m really impressed with what Patrick Boivin has created.  Most stop motion vids feature flat background, while this one involved real background and real people.  I also like how he played around with the depth …

Jason Bateman Cuts Line for iPhone

Jason Bateman Cuts Line for iPhone

bateman Jason Bateman Cuts Line for iPhone

US Weekly reports that Bateman enraged many apple customers lined up for the iPhone. He was pulled from the line by an employee, and escorted straight into the store.

Bateman “outraged more than 2000 people” says US Weekly. But, Bateman denies the claims, he posted on twitter: “There wasn’t one boo. One hiss. Apple guy brought me in away from paparazzi. I was content in line. I wish I’d stayed.”

I don’t buy Bateman’s claim that there wasn’t one boo, or one hiss. Imagine being in line for hours, and a celebrity gets first dibs because he’s special. I’d be cursing …

Hans Zimmer Composer Hans Zimmer Goes iTunes

Hans Zimmer, the man behind epic scores in movies such as The Last Samurai, The Rock and Gladiator, has released his latest work on iTunes: Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.  Zimmer composed the score for one of the biggest games of all time.  His involvement in the project really shows how far video games have gotten as Activision hired one of the most respected composers in Hollywood.  The entire soundtrack can be purchased for $9.99 or $.99 per track.  I suggest getting the whole soundtrack since there are 17 tracks total.
