I was watching Access Hollywood one morning, getting ready for work, when they interviewed Miss America 2011, Alyssa Campanella.  I didn’t pay much attention to it when they showed a clip of R2-D2 and asked her about the character.  She answered right away with the correct answer and said “I wish you guys would ask me more about the more obscure characters like R5-D4.”  I tried finding the clip online but to no avail.

Campanella is also a big fan of Game Of Thrones and  likes to play Angry Birds on her iPhone!

The Philadelphia Monster Jam (for those who don’t know what that is, it’s a Monster Truck show) was just awesome, it was my first time in the Eagles football stadium called Lincoln Financial Field and it’s huge! Everything went very smoothly for such a big crowd of people, the seats were great and very close to the field. Recently,  the state of Tennessee passed a backwards time-traveling bill forbidding elementary  and middle school teachers from using the word “gay” in   their curriculums( source: MSNBC).  That is, the word cannot  be used to describe people who self-identify as gay or lesbian.   The original version of the bill literally stated that  no K-8 teacher “could provide any instruction or material that discusses sexual orientation other than heterosexuality.'” But out and proud nerd icon George Takei has taken a definite stance on this issue with his “just  say Takei” idea.

In 1982 Mattel offered the first Masters of the Universe play-set in the form of Castle Grayskull. Made of green molded plastic, this large home to the heroic Masters of the Universe has become an icon of 80’s culture.

Maybe there’s not much else to do in Allen, Texas but the city welcomed In-N-Out with open arms.  The burger chain opened a restaurant in the city, which has 84,000 people.  This was a really big event for them as there was a 2 mile traffic to ge through the drive thru, with a 3 hour wait.  Here’s the vid:
