Thanks UPS: The Tale Of A Plasma TV

I had an awesome 30-inch Sony CRT but it just wasn’t as grand when compared to John Spartan’s 40-inch LCD.  I mean when you’re watching Transformers, it’s just more epic on a bigger screen.  I decided to get a plasma because the blacks are darker compared to LCD’s but it cost about $300 more.  I ordered it online and I finally got it yesterday.

I’ll let the pictures tell the story of what happened next:

Collections: Part 3!

Collections: Part 3!

In this final part of collections we’ll talk about the negative aspects such as selling, loss and not being able to stop.

There are some great photos of collections and some information for you.

Selling: Why would someone sell something that they spent so much money and time on? There are a few reasons why.

1. They NEED money, and a good amount of it NOW. We either get so wrapped up in spending the money to collect things that we don’t realize the bills need to be paid too–it happens… Or emergencies where money is needed and this is the …

Teddy Bear Urns…….?

Teddy Bear Urns…….?

It’s no secret that some day your gonna die, and when that day comes what’s done with your rotting corpse becomes as complicated as planning the location of your wedding reception.

There’s the old fashion casket thing, or may be you’d like to have your ashes spread in one of your favorite outdoor areas.  Like the tree where you proposed to your wife, or a beach you always loved watching the sunset.

Maybe you’d like your ashes put into an Etch A Sketch.  In the end you want something that lets your family know your resting and at peace.

Me, I …

Collections: Part 2.

Last time in Collections: Part 1 I talked about options and display, in this; part 2, I’ll talk about some Do’s and Dont’s along with alternating and storage.

Do: Enjoy what you are collecting.  If you are going to put out the money and time, you should enjoy all of what you see on display.
Don’t: Collect what ever there is if it doesn’t give you satisfaction or pleasure.  You never want to ask yourself, “Why did I get that?”

Do: Shop around for the best price for a current or older/rare item. You’ll be more …

Batman Rage In Hollywood

Batman Rage In Hollywood

batman cartoon 4 Batman Rage In Hollywood

Next time you visit the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, make sure to watch out for Batman.

Apparently, the real Batman likes to mingle with his fans, until you piss him off.  Then he’ll go in Christian Bale mode:

Here’s Batman again causing havoc, only he wasn’t quick enough to evade the cops.

Don’t worry Batman, you’re still my FAVORITE super hero!…

Shoes To Die For

Shoes To Die For

Did you know horror icons Freddy, Jason, and Leatherface had teamed up with Nike to create some pretty damn unique shoes?

Except for a few pairs, these shoes never made it to the market because of legal issues.  Let’s take a look at the crazy designs more closely….

Freddy Version:
Design is very subtle and you won’t really notice the blood splatter until you look at it closely.  Freddy’s skin inside the shoe is a nice touch.  This is my favorite of the line because it’s not too loud.  Only hardcore fans will get the design.

Collections: Part 1

Collections: Part 1

Many of us either have collections or thought about starting one. Our collection might be small with just a few items, in the middle with quite a bit, or very large that includes everything that we can find on the subject.

This series of articles is intended to give ideas to new collectors and for current collectors, I hope to bring a smile and some nods–maybe even a few new ideas.

All the pictures posted in part one are of my own collections, hopefully they will give a good idea of how much joy or possible sorrow (joke!) that a collection …

Longwood Gardens: Christmas Lights Display

Longwood Gardens: Christmas Lights Display

For those of you not from the Philadelphia area, Longwood Gardens is a gorgeous horticultural showplace. There is currently an amazing Christmas display and outdoor ice skating there, which I attended last weekend with my girlfriend. After some hellish traffic and parking along a dirt field in the middle of Nowhere, USA, we were taken across the highway on a packed shuttle bus to start our adventure. Despite the cold weather, thousands of people were there to tour the grounds and people were generally in great spirits and happy to be there.

Here’s some pictures of our experience:

The Road: From Print to Film

The Road: From Print to Film

I’m gonna preface this by saying that I’m in no way, shape or form, a true reviewer of any kind.  I love the movies, I love books, and I like to talk about what I love about them.  That’s pretty much it.  I’m not going to deconstruct ‘The Road,’ in either form, and I’m not going to lay out the entire plot for you.  All I want to do is get across a few points, and why I think people should see the movie and read the book.  I’ll save the name-calling and bashing for something that deserves it.  Instead, today, …
