Star Wars Isn’t Just For Boys – NERDS Unite!

Star Wars Isn’t Just For Boys – NERDS Unite!

Ever been bullied for being a nerd?  During elementary and junior high, I was picked on for being an “A” student and not with the “in” crowd.  But it’s time we stand up to bullies!  Not through violence but through the internet.  It all started when a first grader named Katie was mocked by her male classmates for bringing a Star Wars water bottle to school.  The guys told her Star Wars was just for boys.  But Katie disagreed with that statement, she loves Star Wars because she’s adopted just like Luke Skywalker.  Her mom wrote a blog about the incident …

Mimobot Flash Drive Winners!

Mimobot Flash Drive Winners!

This Mimobot contest was the most popular with 60 responses!  Thanks to everyone that participated!!

Let’s see if you can get the correct answer why Mimobot Flashdrives are so popular:

a)  Cool design
b) It has practical use
c) Great licensed characters
d) Appeals to both males, females and robots
e) All of the above.

If you guessed “E”, you are correct!

My favorite is the Imperial Guard from Star Wars because you can build an army out of it and they just look badass.  For this contest, Mimobot was nice enough to give away 2 free flash drives!

I was in disbelief when I first saw this news. But, the guy is a software engineer and probably is a millionaire. Anyways, Forbes interviewed the man and this is his explanation:

“When motion pictures were first invented there were a lot of critics saying that it is a novelty act and it would never amount to anything nor will be able to make any real money once the novelty wears off – last time i checked Avatar has grossed 2.7 billion dollars world wide. Most recent example is MTV and Internet but then you know those stories well enough. Virtual …

Friday Funny: Drunk Santa

Friday Funny: Drunk Santa

We’re starting Christmas early this year by presenting this vid of Santa:

I have to give props to Santa for holding onto his hat.  Landing on that bumper face first must’ve been tough though.  I hope he just fell asleep in the elevator, don’t want him driving.…

Via Flickr, Ben Calukins creates a Master Chief helmet out of Legos. And yes, it’s wearable. All I can think of is “ouch,” those Lego pieces were never nice to my foot!

Holy Batmobile…I Mean BatVan

Check out this Batman inspired van from Japan.  To me it looks like a combination of Scorponok and Scoob Doo’s van.  I’m sure this van won’t be going to any drive thru’s in the near future.

Vogue released a few photographs of Spider-Man’s upcoming musical production. Although, the show has already hit many bumps before opening, I think that these images are great. It’s definitely a redefinition of Spider-man, in an abstract sort of way.

$5 Blu-Ray and $29 Video Games at Wal-Mart on Black Friday

Just when I was bummed that Target and Best Buy had mediocre deals for Black Friday, Wal-Mart’s ad was leaked earlier today and I’m excited about it.  They have the best deals so far, with more than 60 Blu-Ray titles for $5 and 30 more at $10.  The $5 Blu-Ray prices are insane because their DVD counterparts is also the same price. Click on the pics for high res version.

With prices like these, it becomes more about greed.  I’ll probably buy Batman Begins for $5 but how many times am I going to watch it?  Probably once every 2 years …
