Cosplayers and anime fans were in full force at Royal/T for the book launch party of  Ejen Chuang’s, “Cosplay In America.”  Tune in Tokyo was on hand to provide the music as guests were boogying to the  latest hip Japanese songs.  Chuang was overwhelmed with the high turnout and the book sold out by the end of the day.

Fans were asking for Chuang’s autograph, which was something new for the photographer.

“I’m not used to this.  Usually, I’m on the back and nobody sees the photographer,” as Chuang explained his newfound fame.

Disneynature does it again with the hypnotic and visually stunning new nature documentary called Oceans. Last Earth Day, Disney released Earth, which was terrific, but was mostly footage from Planet Earth edited down to feature-length. Disneynature got Oceans from France and director Jacques Perrin. Perin made the justly beloved documentary Winged Migration and Oceans is a spectacular sight to behold. It deserves to be seen on the biggest screen possible, it’s just a pity that it isn’t playing on the IMAX. This is exactly the kind of movie that belongs on an IMAX screen, How to Train Your Dragon be damned.…

Long Beach Fight Night was it again on Sunday night, delivering action packed bouts.  Eight of the nine fights ended with a tko or sub with only one going to decision.  Below are the results.

I did a little walking around in San Francisco while covering WonderCon. It was a rainy weekend, but was fun nonetheless. I thought i’d make these into Black and White since that’s how I felt when I was there, the sun barely came out!

Photographer Dina Goldstein caused an internet sensation with her project,  ‘Fallen Princesses’ .  The project consisted of fairy tale princesses set in today’s real world.  Members from social sites like digg and stumbleupon embraced the photo series and shared it with the internet communty.  Today the word of mouth from the project is still going strong, if you search for ‘Fallen Princesses’ on google, nearly 4 million results show up.
