Here I am at Comic-Con with Hailey (Paramore)

I recently attended Comic-Con and let me say it was a blast, well that’s because I was busy flirting with the babes (shhh, don’t tell the girlfriend). Throughout the event, we did video interviews and got a chance to attend the Kamen Rider panel.

“Wait a minute, You went to Comic-Con and only went to the Kamen Rider panel? Is that it?”

Yeah, we didn’t feel like waiting in line for the other panels (as awesome as they may be) and instead used that time to take loads of pictures of cosplayers, babes, …

Here’s the rundown – VAMPS is a band formed by Hyde (L’Arc-en-Ciel) and K.A.Z. (Oblivion Dust) who have been collaborating with each since Hyde’s solo work back in 2003. Below you can check out their rockin’ music video, “LOVE ADDICT,” to get a taste of their tunes.

The first time I heard Hyde’s singing was in the opening song in the anime called DNA² when he was in L’Arc-en-Ciel (Also one of my first experiences with J-Rock). Other animes that have featured their songs …

 Classic Film Review: American Pop!

In 1980 an amazing adult animated movie called American Pop came out for the public to experience. Directed by, Ralph Bakshi whose film Fritz The Cat was given an “X” rating in the 70’s.  Bakshi used actors to play the character to then animate over them giving the look and emotion of the cartoons coming to life.

American Pop brings the viewer into a world of pop culture–following a family of musicians through 4 generations. Starting with Zalmie who immigrated to New York and began in Vaudeville. Bennie his son whom was a genius pianist. Bennie’s son, Tony who …

Celtic Woman 12 Concert Review: Celtic Woman Isle of Hope Tour Philadelphia, PA

I went to see Celtic Woman’s new “Isle of Hope” concert at the Mann in Philadelphia with my girlfriend over the weekend. The concert was spectacular, but if you’ve seen them perform on PBS or bought any of their CDs or DVDs, you already know that. Seeing them live was very cool and having such great seats helped a lot. The Mann is outdoors (covered) so having nice weather is an important factor. Luckily, the weather was excellent. Celtic Woman are 5 women who do a mix of traditional Irish songs, new-age style music, pop covers, and instrumental songs with their …

Soundtrack Review: Mirror’s Edge Original Videogame Score

Soundtrack Review: Mirror’s Edge Original Videogame Score

mirrors edge original videogame score 300x300 Soundtrack Review: Mirror’s Edge Original Videogame Score

Half a year later after the release of Mirror’s Edge, EA has finally released the Mirror’s Edge Original Videogame Score on May 19, 2009. This isn’t the remix edition, but the actual music from the game by Magnus Birgersson (Solar Fields). The remix album was pretty lame with half a dozen remixes to “Still Alive” and I was starting to wonder how many variations of the song I could handle.

After playing Mirror’s Edge, one of the highlights for the game is the score. The music ranges from cold and somber to urgent and paranoid. The soundtrack includes the …

They say Disneyland is the “Happiest Place on Earth.” What they forgot to mention was, “Disneyland is also the coolest place to work.” The reason for that is that the “Cast Members” every year gets to participate in a musical event called Flashback. This year is Flashback International 2009 and the event was this past week at the Hyperion Theater in Disney’s California Adventure.

“Throughout the past 11 seasons, over 2,250 Disneyland® Resort Cast Members have joined the Flashback family. We estimate that Flashback Cast Members have donated over 300,000 VoluntEARS hours and $210,000 to local charities. Beyond the Cast Members

Peter Gabriel Protests the Oscars

Peter Gabriel Protests the Oscars

peter gabriel 1 Peter Gabriel Protests the Oscars

I was really into cyberpunk movies back in the 90s, so that’s where I would hear Peter Gabriel’s music. The first time was in Virtuosity in 1995. The name of the song was “Party Man,” and it was a fitting song after the climax of the movie. The next time I would hear him again was in The Fifth Element in 1997. His song “Little Light of Love” was playing at the end credits and it was a nice song to compliment the techno opera song performed by that weird blue alien diva.

Yes, I was excited when I heard the …
