Due to Thanksgiving, movies are being released today instead of the usual Fridays’.   Four big releases came out today, ranging from a Disney family flick to a violent revenge tale and everything else in between.  Let’s check their scores.

Disney’s new CG movie, Tangled, is getting phenomenal reviews.  It’s at 89% on Rottentomatoes.  The movie is based on the fairytale “Rapunzel.”  The marketing strategy shifted for this movie after Princess And The Frog flopped.  Instead of focusing on Rapunzel, the ads have shown Flynn Rider, the male lead.  Disney also added more action scenes for Flynn.  Globe and Mail noticed …

Ever been bullied for being a nerd?  During elementary and junior high, I was picked on for being an “A” student and not with the “in” crowd.  But it’s time we stand up to bullies!  Not through violence but through the internet.  It all started when a first grader named Katie was mocked by her male classmates for bringing a Star Wars water bottle to school.  The guys told her Star Wars was just for boys.  But Katie disagreed with that statement, she loves Star Wars because she’s adopted just like Luke Skywalker.  Her mom wrote a blog about the incident …

Mars Needs Moms is produced by Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future, Polar Express) and directed by Simon Wells. The kid is voiced by Seth Green, who sounds annoying to me. But, if I can get past that, this movie could be fun, especially in 3D.

Via Slashfilm, Disney has confirmed that The Lone Ranger will be filmed with Johnny Depp as the hero, and will be directed by Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski. Although Jerry Bruckheimer might be tied to this film, IMDB hasn’t listed him yet.

It’s a cute little trailer, but it doesn’t reveal much. The story revolves about a man (Russell Brand) who injured a bunny and must take care of the bunny. The animation looks great so I’m excited to see how this turns out!…

At first, I though that this was just another version of the Tom Hanks movie (Apollo 13). It’s not. After looking at the poster closely, I am now excited about the film.
